Parallels Remote Application Server (Parallels RAS) is a very good fit for use. The admin console is well organized and is a gigantic step for us respect to the simple Microsoft RAS management console. I give 7 out of 10 just because on the reports side could be done something better in terms of number of reports.

Parallels RAS farm can be deployed with redundancy in mind. All roles/components including gateway; sessions Hosts, HALB agents, publishing Agents and the Certificate server can include multiple hosts for failover and redundancy with eliminates single point of failure and removes bottlenecks caused by one host/agent. A single console which has greatly improved over the years, simplifies daily management tasks.

I think Parallels RAS aims to provide a simple and intuitive experience for deployment, administration, and everyday users. I rate Parallels Remote Application Server (Parallels RAS)'s overall usability like this because it is still easy for us to use and configure. The user has a good expirence and you don't have to explain much how to use it.

Overall usability of RAS is pretty straightforward. There are two panels in which you control pretty much everything from, web or administration panel on the server. Parallels only works in a Windows environment so expect to pay and maintain Windows server.

There is a fairly robust set of instructions and guides available for each version that is released. They publish thorough release/change notes to ensure you know exactly how a change/update may impact your configuration. There are tools built in for use with certain types of automation workflows as well.

You do not need to be an expert in IT to configure, manage or train anyone to use RAS. Everything about deployment was simple and straightforward although I do wish the integration with okta and SAML was there and it didn't require the use of Active Directory for certain parts of the deployment. We eliminated AD and use Okta exclusively but without the integration we are forced to setup local users and use WORKGROUP on the server. Not terrible, just not as streamlined or secure.

As you may see from other parts of my review - Parallels makes a promise and lives up to it. It is simple and straightforward for staff who use the published applications all day long. They love that fact that if they have a power-blip or Internet blip at home - they do not lose their work - it recovers/reconnects and lets them keep going right where they left off.
The published applications make life simple for both the staff and for those of us who have to support them. Overall, it is the simplest way to give people the option to work remotely - and we have several staff who use it right here at their desk in the office as well.
