What is Parallels RAS?

Parallels® Remote Application Server (RAS) is a remote work solution that provides secure virtual access to business applications and desktops on any device or OS—from anywhere. The platform offers an agile, cloud-ready foundation and end-to-end security fueled by a centralized management console with granular policies. Companies can leverage on-premises, hybrid, or public cloud deployments and integrate with existing technology like Microsoft Azure and AWS. Parallels RAS aims to give organizations the flexibility, scalability, and IT agility to adapt to changing business needs.   • Supported: Multifactor authentication: Requires users to authentication access via two-factor or smart card authentication. Parallels RAS also integrates with third-party security solutions.
  • Supported: Encryption protocols: Parallels RAS Secure Gateway supports SSL and FIPS 140-2 encryption, helping organizations adhere to data compliance policies such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.
  • Supported: Centralized monitoring: Transforms raw data into custom visual reports to show traffic and resource usage from network infrastructure. Centrally monitors day-to-day user activities.

Overall a good rating, we had some issues with a long-lasting bug but in general, support was very helpful. In some cases, the response times could be a bit better but this might be a result of COVID and workload, all in all, good support with extensive knowledge base documents.

The support team is knowledgeable, friendly, and quick to respond to issues The company also provides a range of online resources, including a knowledge base, documentation, and forums, which can be helpful before raising a ticket

Parallels Remote delivers maximum assistance to users, more so the new subscribers who still need proper guide on the procedures of working with Parallels Remote. Again, Parallels Remote generates constant energy, where systematic follows up after the subscription is made and rational engagement is maintained to have a perfect work environment.

Parallels Remote has an extremely responsive support system, which has credible solutions to questions that get raised. More so, Parallels Remote makes a follow-up, which is perfect customer support or after-sales service. Again, Parallels Remote has credible chat options, though it also includes the live calls for the assistance required.

For the most part, Parallels Remote Application Server support has been absolutely wonderful and very responsive. The only caveat to that would be one issue that we have with IP filtering for applications when logging in with the Parallels client (not from the browser). We've addressed it with their support team but they've brushed it off and it's still unresolved. We have a work-around for this but it's not a good solution.

We've had to interact with Parallels support a handful of times over our use; the bugs we reported to them were very quickly solved (less than two weeks), and they were generally very efficient at figuring out our issues. We've never had any questions unanswered by them, and they've been quite educational throughout the experience, giving us pointers and tips on how to better use our infrastructure.

The support is excellent. You do not have to navigate through a level 1 team that doesn't know the answers to anything. You are quickly connected with a well-educated and knowledgeable support person. The sales team is also well engaged and reaches out when they see you've opened a ticket. This shows a nice commitment.

This is the one point where Parallels falls down. We had issues with baggage tag printers in our environment either not printing well or at all when printing from Parallels. It took many week, and multiple sessions, and I don't think we ever got it to work. Granted, this is a very specialized case, but while we were working on it, it never felt like the support was all that knowledgeable or motivated to assist.

I have not so good experience with Tear-1 support team, however as soon as my problems were moved to the next level of support, the picture changed drastically. Guys from Tear-2 were all professionals and handled all the tickets very fast.

So Parallels Remote Application Server is designed in such a clever way that you don't need too much support. On the two occasions we have been in touch with support, they have been quick to respond with solid information. Not just sending over a KB article and saying work it out on your own. They want to learn the system so they can help you benefit from the product fully.

When we've interacted with the support they have always been competent, but not always timely with a response. The good experiences definitely outweigh the bad, but there is room for improvement.
