Paycom's online payroll software is an efficient and cost-effective way to self-manage payroll with exceptional accuracy. Their Report Center conveniently stores all the necessary wages and tax reports which are automatically generated and readily accessible, plus Paycom handles the filing of taxes with the IRS. As a sole employee of an LLC, I use it for payroll, however, based on Paycom's communications I receive, the company also offers tools to efficiently manage employee expense reporting, applicant tracking & onboarding of new hires, as well as other HR management tools.

We have employees located in multiple different states. Paycom is very helpful in the way that we are able to customize each employee's profile very easily. We rarely run into a situation where Paycom doesn't offer [the] service we need. I wish Paycom was able to run our international payrolls.

I am a CPA working in private industry. I have utilized payroll software for over 30 years. I have utilized in-house software and have outsourced both to Paycom and ADP. By far, Paycom is the best payroll software I have ever used. I first learned of Paycom from a colleague about 8 years ago. I implemented Paycom at my previous place of employment where there were approximately 120 employees. I never regretted the decision. I am in a smaller organization now with approximately 25 employees. The company had payroll software as a part of their specialized accounting software. It was awful. I implemented Paycom about 8 months after I joined the organization. The functionality and ease of use are just very good. Your support services are also very good. I can't speak to how Paycom works in a very large company, but for small businesses, it is second to none.

Paycom seems particularly smooth for an organization where most staff are salaried or hourly staff have only one or two jobs to allocate pay between. As an employer with 100-200 employees per payroll depending on the season, and some staff having up to 10 jobs, our managers still spend a fair amount of time reviewing and correcting timecards or asking staff to submit change requests so everything is correct by the time we run payroll. I would love to have employees take more responsibility for timecard accuracy, but given our organization's complexity and the youthfulness of our staff a lot of the responsibility sits on the managers and on the payroll staff.

Paycom is well suited for a company that is consistently hiring people. The self-onboarding that Paycom has allows people to be onboarded so easily and quickly. It takes the brunt of the work off HR and efficiently makes the work of the employee work twice. In other words, the employee is already doing their paperwork whenever they start at a new company. With Paycom self-onboarding, as they fill out "the paperwork," it is entering that information into their Paycom profile. This way, I don't have to go back in and manually put everything in, increasing the chance of human error.

Paycom is certainly an all in one platform and seems to handle any business size well. Our decision to utilize Paycom was based on how well the platform could handle our current size and how they would evolve as we grow. The platform certainly takes a lot of the back office function away by allowing employees to input their own information. Paycom is ideally suited for all company sizes; However, if there was one negative factor it would be that they limit their accessibility by the cost of the software.

Overall, I found Paycom to be a very good solution for our business. We were struggling to find one system that not only was functional, but had provided excellent customer support.

Pros
  • Implementation was a breeze. Out of my 5 times doing this in multiple organizations, this was the easiest.
  • Great Customer Service
  • System is easy to use
  • Ad Hoc Reporting is very strong
Cons
  • Applicant tracking system is a bit lacking - would have liked more functionality

Paycom is great for straightforward by-the-book situations/clients. While you will receive a lot of hands-on assistance through implementation, if you have any situations that are uncommon or don’t function exactly how the Paycom system is built, it can be a while before you receive any resolution once you’re in the long term care.

It is one of the most advanced hiring management platforms. I will suggest this tool for organizing the employees’ data and for controlling your budget. It will provide you a clear picture of your finance utilization and offers good administration features. Through this application, we can easily control the risks and lawsuits. Paycom will help you to cross-check the lawsuits and to manage the tax.

Paycom is well suited for a company that wants to equip the employees to utilize multiple platforms of Paycom i.e. time sheet checking, input time off, ask the manager, document reviewing and signing, etc.
It is less well-suited if a company prefers closer micromanagement of these processes. Small companies may not benefit as well as larger companies.

Paycom is user-friendly once you learn the language (all payroll companies have their own language). I love the one-page how-to section I have used this several times and it is easy to share with the employees. There is a lot of time needed to set up sections like manager access and benefits mostly because the system is so robust. When you do find something that is not set up correctly, it is pretty easy to correct to make it work for your needs.

Based on my experience, I always recommend Paycom to others, as I am very satisfied with the customer service support and functionality of the product. While things aren't always perfect all of the time, Paycom as made my life easier and the employees really like it.

Paycom is well suited for our organization because Payroll is simple and one can actually begin to work on it well before it is due to submit. It can be said that by the time I do payroll, it's literally a push of the button. Paycom has an app that is sometimes challenging for the employees. Videos are not easy to watch at times, and if there is a quiz attached to one, often it's not accessible.

I think the setup for labor allocation works great for us but to have the ability to only show specific labor allocation/cost centers to a location would be great. Right now with our trucking company, every route we run is a labor allocation. I can enter a "lock" to show the employees under that location its specific labor allocation/cost centers. Here is where the problem comes in: we have so many drivers that cross locations and with the "lock" on specific location/cost centers, they cannot change from their home department or another department. Even as an administrator, I can't change this. I would love to be able to override anything in time and attendance as an administrator.

I have never come across a system that does everything I need it to do. The functionality [of Paycom] is above any that I have had to use in the past.
