We evaluated Paychex as a payroll provider but we felt like Paylocity had more to offer overall. Paylocity's payroll and HR modules are superior and their customer service has always been helpful and we felt too much pressure from Paychex to sign up for their products or different services they offered.

Paylocity was already a company used for processing payroll when I was hired. I have worked with other payroll companies in the past that were not as easy to navigate or provide a help tool that can be utilize to get question to issue or help with finding a report to print in the system.

We were with Paychecks for a while but then they decided they could not handle our unique payroll calendar and were going to force us to change. The owner was not happy with that. We haven't looked back.

Those are the companies I've used in the past. I wasn't working at CNOB when Paylocity was chosen. But Paylocity is 1000 times superior to the two programs I used in the past! There are no secret codes for deductions or earnings; payroll registers are easy to read, and it's very, very user-friendly. And again, when you're stuck, customer service is always available right away with the solution.

We had Paychex for many years. While we weren't completely unhappy with them, we made the switch to Paylocity for many reasons. Paylocity was able to offer us one platform for time & labor and payroll. In addition, we saved over $10k per year after making the switch. With Paychex, we had experienced a lack in quality of customer service and response times. Paylocity was wonderful in this area initially, but we have noticed some decline recently.

Overall, Paylocity stacks up well to competitors as it has many capabilities, is operating properly most of the time, and has been in use for years (allowing for time to build custom reports, etc. for our company). Paylocity does seem like it would work best in a state with less complex labor laws than California. Additional support staff who are trained in specific states would be helpful.

Paylocity was more cost effective. Paylocity was also significantly more attentive to our needs. We did not need a lot of what ADP had to offer, we just needed attention. ADP also has a very clucnky service team (i.e. so many different teams) whereas Paylocity feels more integrated and coordinated when we have a service issue

We honestly had a program that only kept track of our Demographics, salaries, etc. then all of our Payroll was done on paper with paper leave slips etc. When I saw Paylocity, I was very excited about how easy it is/would be to use. [...] Our Paylocity rep that I spoke to was super GREAT in the explanation of Paylocity and I didn't even shop around much.

We previously used Zenefits and they had horrible customer service. Prior to signing up with Paylocity, I checked references and reviews and Paylocity ranked high with customer service. I can say, without hesitation, that the customer service with Paylocity is the best I have experienced with any vendor even outside of payroll.

QuickBooks payroll processing is easy. The difference is the tax reporting. With QB you have to manually process each report, check for errors and then print them and submit them yourself and process the tax payments manually. With Paylocity they handle the entire process for you.
