PeopleSoft Campus Solutions

I used Banner previously and I think PeopleSoft Campus Solutions was so much more user friendly. I also found the reporting to be easier to access with CS. CS works well when paired with FMS and HCM. You can pretty much go full oracle and also implements database systems for data warehousing and even more detailed analysis. Due to the size of Oracle and PeopleSoft the amount of third party support also seems higher. I had also used Hobsons products before but find CS to be more robust than their offerings as well.

PeopleSoft Campus Solutions has been the software of choice between Jenzebar and Campus vue as the user interface is easier, students seem to understand their progress and the system better than the other two softwares I have used. I would recommend this as all things student related are in one portal area.

CS works in conjunction with HCM and Finance. Although the integration between the products could be quite a bit better.

I used Jenzabar at a smaller institution, and primarily focused on the LMS aspect, and not the SIS - but it seemed to have less features, but generally be easier to use. I'd highly recommend Jenzabar for institutions that don't already have a significant Oracle footprint.

We looked at other systems that operated similarly to Peoplesoft but we thought PS as the best for us at that time. Compared to its other competitors it is more robust and customizable which was a big factor for us. Almost everything in PS can be customized to meet the specific needs of the user. We have special modules for different departments e.g. Financials, Financial Aid, School of Education, Enrollment. All these different screens are available in PS and can be accessed by different users per permission. Other systems do not provide this level of customization while providing a great level of security as well.

I haven't used another competitor. In talking with others that use Banner and other tools, I think PeopleSoft is more designed for the enterprise and supports the scale we operate at.

PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is probably the best out of the 3 options indicated above. I think the ease of implementation, the training modules, and clear concise material that both makes sense and is retainable is a huge advantage. Although it may fall short in other areas, the aforementioned items make up for what it lacks. You can't find the perfect system.

The only other system we used was our in-house, proprietary system. Our home grown system could not do a fraction of what PeopleSoft offers.
