Memsource is great for beginners and pros alike. The support web pages are very useful for those taking their first steps and the project management dashboard is intuitive and easy to use.

Particularly helpful when you have huge files. I've always worked with TMs and TBs provided by clients, so I don't have experience creating them from scratch. But what I like the most about Memsource is that it has a user-friendly interface where you have all you need during translation.

Well suited for technical texts, contracts, and general texts. Less appropriate as most cat tools for humanistic and artistic texts.

I've specifically recommended Memsource to project managers looking for a cloud-based solution that enabled them to work with freelancers that didn't require those freelancers to have expensive licenses of their own. It's a very agile solution.

Well suited: Recurring translation projects where using a TM will help lower the cost of translation. Less appropriate: Translation that do not require a 1:1 translation and more transcreation.

I think Memsource is well suited for translations and great for beginners since it is quick and easy to use. I can basically work from everywhere around the world, as long as I have an internet connection. This is a great plus! Another big advantage is the search function, which is quite easy to use. The User interface as a whole looks simple and clear. The Preview function is also very helpful since I can directly see how my translation will be presented and re-read it for mistakes. Out of all the CAT tools I have worked with (e. g. Trados Studio, memoQ), I like Memsource the most, since Memsource is just easier to use overall, allowing you to work faster and be more productive. Another benefit is that I can decline a job from the get-go directly on the web surface, without having to inform my client. Furthermore the Instant QA feature helps save time at the end of the translation.

Memsource is appropriate in any scenario where you would use a CAT.

I really like Memsource because I have different clients using it and it is easy to switch between login and clients. I would prefer a better Preview option. Also, I need to observe character limits and would like to have an easy feature to do so, especially if a client splits long descriptions into various segments. I appreciate the Quality function to ensure consistency.

Memsource is appropriate in any scenario where you would use a CAT.

Memsource is perfect for long projects where a whole team of translators and revisers have to work together. It is very convenient as it saves time and ensures the good quality of the target text. It makes working with terminology really simple, as it is easy to add terms to the translation memory.

I like Memsource because when I am not home and I don't have my laptop, I can borrow a computer, log in to my Memsource account and I'm ready to begin translating. I can even download the source files and check the TM and glossary there. It's not necessary to download the software and lose time on that.

Memsource is easy to use and I like using it for any type of translation work, but when the source texts contain tags, they tend to generate issues that cannot be solved due to the difference in characteristics between source and target languages, so they bring me headaches. But you cannot know if the source texts contain tags until you open the file and take a look at the contents...

Because it's so easy to use, I'd say it's well suited for any situation where you regularly need to make translations.

For teams where team members are in different parts of the world, and different time zones.

I'd recommend Memsource to any business dealing in translation work. This software offers both offline and online options for translators. It has a friendly user interface and is easy to pick up and learn.

Memsource was able to help me translate terms, catch spelling and punctuation errors, and remind me to use TM when I come across a similar sentence in the source text that I already translated.

The client delivers the text without filtering the online tags for some eLearning products, primarily webpage-generated eLearning, and Memsource may have a mechanism to filter the web tags for the actual translation, for instance.

Is well suited for videogames with several strings. It allows you to focus in each string separately and look for tags cautiously. Also, the shortcuts are really useful for games translation. Doing LQA Testing is also easy and it shows you clearly the errors in the segments, so you can fix them asap. In other translation ambits such as literary, it is not very appropiate.

I like the advanced filters in editing view and also analyzing word counts is fast and effective. It really makes my job more difficult if we need to open every single language separately and confirm the segments in editor, instead of doing it from the main site. Also users are not active if there is no file assigned to them--trouble starts when you want to assign the task to them and they cannot be picked from a drop down.

It happened many times where I was requested to translate some material urgently, after the relevant team made some changes to the translation I provided already. Memsource Translation Memory came in handy where it detected exactly where the changes were, which saved me a ton of time, as I just made the necessary edits rather than translating from scratch. Also, in my day to day translation, I come across a lot of repeated content. Memsource detects this content and confirms it automatically in all segments so I don't have to go through it again.

Memsource is well suited for the management of Localization projects I have not used this tool for managing another type of projects so this would be hard for me to describe where this tool is less appropriate

For each article I translate, I create a new job, assign it to a linguist, track progress, and proofread the translation after they finish.

Memsource is a very good tool for translators who need to venture into computer-assisted translation. It is also good for companies who need to preserve the confidentiality of their materials as they can stop the linguists from downloading the translation memories and the term bases that were generated by the company.

I believe Memsource is well suited for fast-paced work scenarios with a number of professionals working on the same project. It is good for fostering communication between clients and service providers, with intuitive access to LQA and feedback. The only downside I noted is the lack of a progress bar for translators to see the progress of their work in a given task. I strongly recommend Memsource CAT tool.

I think Memsource is suited for all scenarios when the Preview section is available.
