Long-time user and fan of Podio

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Podio is a great repository for just about everything I need to track. I keep all my account information there (for home and business) to make it easy for someone else to know what I track in case I am not available. Because it is so verstile in what I can store, I use it for a variety of other purposes. I have a section just for vacations (because that's IMPORTANT!) I store notes, ideas, and reservation details for hotels, airlines, attractions and more. Also, I have a workspace to help me manage gift certicates for restaurants and season tickets for the theatre. I also started using it as a journal. Have not done much there but I see the potential as I can upload photos, create tasks and long-term goals. Each workspace is customizable on what fields I need so I think the uses are boundless. I don't use it for business as much as I used to but found it so useful I have kept my account active.

Pros

  • Customizable workspaces for a variety of applications. I can create different fields for each application type.
  • I can create associations between apps. For example, for a vacation I can link to all reservations for that trip (hotel, flight, etc.)
  • I love that I can upload photos as visual cues are great.

Cons

  • Honestly, I've been pretty happy with it. Been using for 8 years.
  • I have not tried the app much but that is on me.
  • Some sort of encryption feature for sensitive data would be cool!

Return on Investment

  • Great ROI - Used for both personal and business
  • One stop record keeping for a variety of applications and categories
  • Time saver for me and for anyone who needs to pick up the ball

Podio - Power On Tap

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Given the power, unrestricted flexibility and user-friendly UI, I use Podio as the basis/hub for nearly every aspect of my business. With the inclusion of Workflow Automations (formerly Globiflow), it is very easy to automatically move and apply data across multiple workspaces. The allows me to use Podio for training, operations, product development, crm, sales, reporting and much, much more.

Pros

  • On-the-fly, no-code, customization.
  • Easy, intra-app automations.
  • No cost 'guest' access to items.
  • Granular permission structure to features and data

Cons

  • Internal integrations with leading third party apps
  • Accelerated feature development
  • Enhanced tutorials and support.

Return on Investment

  • Accelerates 'time-to market/solution' for everything.
  • Nearly eliminates dependency on developers for internal systems.
  • Single source collaboration tool

Great tool to keep a small team organized and accountable.

Pros

  • Keeping track of hundreds of our client contacts and key information and meeting notes.
  • Customizable apps that work with Globiflow to remind us of key deadlines.
  • Customizable templates within apps that remind us to log the right information.

Cons

  • The interface is not pretty. It could use some design upgrades.
  • Globiflow is complicated to use and takes a lot of time to set up correctly. The training forums are complicated too.
  • Every so often the entire site goes down - comes back without info lost, but downtime is hard during a business day.

Return on Investment

  • Helps streamline notes and communication amongst the team.
  • Keeps track of everything in one place.
  • Can access on the go via mobile.

  • It allows me to do commenting so that being a team we can give suggestions to one another thus, enhancing the work efficiency.
  • It is an affordable platform which provide better services in less cost.

Cons

  • Project sharing is a bit difficult. [Citrix Podio] must introduce some new and advanced features for sharing projects.
  • It is also difficult to remove someone from ongoing project.

Return on Investment

  • It organizes our projects and let us make our clients happy and satisfied.
  • One of the most interesting and useful things is its tracking system that keeps on tracking every single task and notify me with all activities.

Perfect tool for project management in the organization

Pros

  • The quality build tool that helped me a lot in the recent two projects, that they had a lot of data in bulk which Citrix [Podio] managed very well and did notify me on every single step so that I did not miss any main deadline.
  • Another stand-out feature that I like the most which is its notification and alerts system. The software notifies me of the task progress, tells me about the due date, and alerts me when the task gets overdue.
  • This helps me a lot in sharing the real-time progress on the projects to the customers to engage them confidently with the work productivity.

Cons

  • The main drawback that I faced while starting on the platform that it is not easy to customize according to the needs. There are some rules and restriction on the platform which do not allows having the platform in your own customizable style.
  • Secondly, customer support is drastically unprofessional. Recently I got stuck in some features which I wanted to explore. For which I texted their support and they were really unprofessional, did not even listen to the query full, and never respond again which is the biggest drawback.

Return on Investment

  • Its mobile app is providing easy and user-friendly services with advanced features. The mobile app has all the basic tools needed for project handling and management.
  • It is highly functional to manage tasks, get real-time updates on work and have a better workflow as all the functions are automated on the platform.
  • Its customer support needs improvement.
