Long-time user and fan of Podio
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Podio is a great repository for just about everything I need to track. I keep all my account information there (for home and business) to make it easy for someone else to know what I track in case I am not available. Because it is so verstile in what I can store, I use it for a variety of other purposes. I have a section just for vacations (because that's IMPORTANT!) I store notes, ideas, and reservation details for hotels, airlines, attractions and more. Also, I have a workspace to help me manage gift certicates for restaurants and season tickets for the theatre. I also started using it as a journal. Have not done much there but I see the potential as I can upload photos, create tasks and long-term goals. Each workspace is customizable on what fields I need so I think the uses are boundless. I don't use it for business as much as I used to but found it so useful I have kept my account active.
Pros
- Customizable workspaces for a variety of applications. I can create different fields for each application type.
- I can create associations between apps. For example, for a vacation I can link to all reservations for that trip (hotel, flight, etc.)
- I love that I can upload photos as visual cues are great.
Cons
- Honestly, I've been pretty happy with it. Been using for 8 years.
- I have not tried the app much but that is on me.
- Some sort of encryption feature for sensitive data would be cool!
Return on Investment
- Great ROI - Used for both personal and business
- One stop record keeping for a variety of applications and categories
- Time saver for me and for anyone who needs to pick up the ball
