Polycom RealPresence is really only the preferred teleconferencing solution when using a purpose built room for a scheduled face to face meeting. For ad hoc video meetings, Hangouts, Skype, and Slack all provide fewer friction points for average use cases. In fact, as Google accounts are nearly ubiquitous at this point, Hangouts has almost become the de facto standard for ad hoc video conferencing amongst our users.

I have used many different video conferencing types of software including Zoom, Cisco WebEx, Adobe Connect, Skype for Business, and BlueJeans to name a few. Personally I never used anything else that came close to the quality of the video and audio as Polycom. The quality of the video is simply outstanding, and of the times that I used it I never experience freezing video like other platforms.
