Our team uses Polycom Trio for audio, video, and content sharing in all of our conference rooms. This provides the ability to bring a large number of people together to communicate and share content with one another via audio OR video conferencing.
  • Sharing content
  • Video Conferencing
  • Variety of meeting options
  • High quality microphone and speaker
  • A bit pricey
Polycom Trio is well suited for virtual meetings with groups of pretty much any size as it can be used for both audio and video conference calls/meetings. The microphone is powerful and does a great job picking up the speaker's voice, no matter where that person is standing in the room. Additionally, the sound quality of the speaker is excellent.
  • Video conference calls
  • Easy to use touch screen
  • Great sound quality
  • Polycom Trio gives us the ability to hold large group meetings in a virtual or in-person setting as some employees are in the corporate office, some are remote, and some are at various other office sites.
Unfortunately, I am not aware of other products that are similar to Polycom Trio that we've used or evaluated in the past or currently.

  • Ease of Use
I wasn't involved in the selection process, but I would imagine one of the key factors was ease of use. It's very intuitive and anyone in the organization can quickly figure out how to use Polycom Trio.
As mentioned in the previous question, I wasn't part of the eval and selection process.
I have never contacted support for this product.

I have interacted with Poly support.
This product is extremely user friendly/easy to use.
  • Video conferencing
  • Touch screen
  • I don't find anything about the product particularly cumbersome to perform

We use Polycom Trio for our conference room phones and have dozens of them deployed. The Trio solves our need for a nice looking phone, with an easy-to-use interface and native teams integration.
  • Firmware updates are easy, and we've never had issues with buggy software.
  • The build quality of the Polycom Trio is fantastic, very durable, and also looks nice.
  • It provides native integration with Microsoft Teams.
  • The speaker cover on the newest Polycom Trio is a very soft fabric that gets dirty quick.
The Polycom Trio is a perfect fit for a conference room that needs a phone that is easy to use, simple to navigate, and dependable. We have used the Polycom Trio on factory floors and in loud offices, and yet the audio quality is always exceptional. Rarely do we see hardware failures of the phones either.
  • Teams integration
  • Audio quality
  • Quicker for our staff to join meetings
  • Dependable, in that we know the phone will work for meetings without any prep work
We found the Yealink Conference Phones to be laggy in navigation, where as the Polycom Trio was snappy to use.

We use Polycom Trio units on our bigger meeting rooms to allow for a large number of users to use the video conference capabilities of the unit with clarity of audio and video. Everyone in the company uses this system and the main issue it resolves is the microphone pickup in large rooms with many people.
  • Ease of operation
  • Microphone pickup
  • Ease of setup
  • Compatibility with other communication systems
  • Expensive maintenance support
These units are pretty much the standard for mid to large meeting rooms and there are not may competitors that can match the quality, reliablity and ease of use of the Trio.
  • Coming form previous Polycom unit we didn't need to re-train users so that's a saving right there
  • Support required is minimal so this frees up IT resources
While Yealink was priced very competitively it couldn't math the functionality and ease of use of the Polycom units.
Yealink Conference Phones, Azure Backup, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM)
A well known product that most users are familiar with and simple enough for new users to learn and understand.
Support is good but the price for the maintenance is pretty expensive

Polycom Trio is used for Conference rooms at our company, registered to the on-premise Unified Communications infrastructure, We mostly use the Trio 8800 in large to medium conference rooms, being used by more than 10 to 15 members in the conference room. This helps the our teams with good meetings, with clear audio and voice pick-up by the mics.
  • Good audio clarity.
  • Reduces external noise created during the meetings, improving quality of meetings.
  • Registers to open sip platforms, not tied to single UC solution.
  • Complex administration, this is an area of improvement.
  • Add options for wireless mics.
  • Improve support for Trio.
We have Polycom Trio for all our conference rooms which do not need video. They work perfectly well, providing excellent quality, sound and features. The sound quality is good for small to medium rooms. We have added additional mic pods for large conference rooms, helps to get voice from users speaking from corners of room. Registers/Integrates fairly easily with Unified Communications platform.
  • Reduced cost for travels to different office, this is a positive.
  • Administration on the trio should be made simpler, adds burden on training admins.
  • Options to better integrate to Cisco UC, such as presence, shared lines.
Polycom Trio provides better conference call quality, picks up voice from corners of the room with additional mics for large room, better widescreen display, and it was mostly the user satisfaction which made us choose Polycom Trio.

We deployed the Polycom Trio in parallel with iPads for our Room Controllers. About 25% of our rooms received Polycom Trio's and the remaining 75% received iPads.
  • Polycom Trio keeps your meeting room clean with only 1 or 2 cord inputs.
  • Polycom Trio brings three Zoom necessities into one device; Room Controller, Speaker, and Microphone.
  • Our greatest disappointment in Polycom Trio was the lag in using the screen, it wasn't nearly as intuitive and "snappy" as the iPads were.
  • Paired next to the iPad's, the Polycom Trio was much more expensive and couldn't be a justified member of our mass Zoom Room adoption.
The Polycom Trio is a great tool for huddle rooms that don't rely as much on a responsive screen. There are better room controllers out there, but if you just need a good speaker and microphone combo in the traditional conference phone style then the Polycom trio is a good option.
  • Due to previously mentioned negatives about the product, including the price, we decided to cut the Polycom Trio from our Zoom Room lineup.
We preferred the iPad to the Polycom Trio because of the Price, Screen Realestate as opposed to the Trio, and the multiple use cases for an iPad in Zoom Rooms.
