Easy to Use and Improves Efficiency
It was being used by the design department for everyday work. Their projects were being done slowly, so they hired a project manager, who preferred to use Planview Projectplace. We have been supporting the product and assigning licenses. Only English is the language for the software, and it is being used only in one location.
The main problem it has been addressing is the communication between team members and work prioritization. Instead of the work being sent to them by email, they are now planning the most important tasks ahead.

It offers a simpler alternative that's easier to manage by the less tech-savvy people. I also think that Planview Projectplace has managed to keep the product updated compared to other project management tools. Miro is perhaps the one that comes to mind, but while evaluating, we saw fewer issues with Planview Projectplace. Overall, the decision came down to the project manager, that had previous experience and recommended the product.
For me, using a product from a smaller company is better because I know that there will be a focus on improving it, unlike, for example, Microsoft products that can be discontinued at any moment.

Prior experience was the most important for the decision because the project manager had used the product before. However, it also lined up well against the alternatives we had been considering. Overall, the project manager felt that Planview Projectplace would be the right tool for the team to get back on track with their efficiency, and it has worked out as expected.
If it were up to me to decide, I'd ask for demos of the products. For this software, we did not really need the training for the team, as the learning curve was quite quick. However, I'd consider we were lucky with regards to this, and I'd rather receive a full demo and training promise from the vendor.

It allows us to collaborate in one, shared place, with teams around the company including sales, demand generation and customer success. With Planview Projectplace it is possible to see the status of all the activities and projects at any time. Compared to other collaboration tools, Planview Projectplace helps reduce [the amount of] emails and meetings since it allows us to directly collaborate within the tool. It assures visibility across teams, plus document management is very valuable. The review process is simplified and flexible. The only pain point compared to other providers is that the payment of the license is yearly instead of monthly.

We are a single company using the product, but our team is all over the United States. We currently use Projectplace to manage the workflow of our publications across the editorial and the design departments. The cards and boards in Projectplace help us stay organized, on track, and gives us a great visual to see where each department and feature stands throughout the production process. The ability to assign cards to different users, leave notes, and start brainstorming conversations in each workspace is extremely beneficial and no other project management interface compares to that visual organizational aspect.
- The boards are great for organizational purposes- and the visual aspect and drag and drop functionality is easy and efficient.
- Creating different workspaces within our organization is a huge benefit of using Projectplace since we are a two-sided company (publishing and marketing/branding).
- The card system is brilliant and makes moving along magazine elements from editorial to design departments flawless.
- Some of the different views/stats seem a little cumbersome and overcrowd the dash
- In a recent update the ability to drag and reorganize cards in the My Overview setting went away. The Group by dropdown is helpful, but I wish I was still able to rearrange the cards within each workspace/due date/etc.
- With how I use Projectplace there aren't really a lot of cons!
- Unfortunately I don't have any access to numbers or ROI stats, but the ease of day to day work with Projectplace is truly priceless.

There is still a lot for my company/I to learn and utilize with Project Place, but I have heard from other users who have used Projectplace and then switched to other products say that the boards are definitely missed and are a huge asset to using Projectplace.
