  • The return on investment is a definite positive. This is an excellent platform for helping us to educate our end users about the dangers they face every day.
  • The "PhishAlarm" add-in for Outlook is a HUGE time-saver for us. It easily allows our users to select an email and click "Report Phish", which then sends the message to our IT Security team (along with performing a high-level) evaluation of the email for known threats.
  • The time it took to get our Proofpoint totally configured was mostly due to our "less than ideal" OU structure in Active Directory, but once we got everything configured, it sure saves us time.....which means it saves us money.

  • Before we had Proofpoint, a user had fallen victim to a phishing scam. Since we've started sending training out to our users we lowered the number of phishing scams.
  • Our users are more educated. They also use this knowledge outside of work.

  • Using PSAT has had a positive impact on our users not clicking on malicious links in emails. That is probably the number one thing PSAT has done for us.
  • The negative impact using the Report Phish button in Outlook is that it does not work in shared mailboxes and O365 group mailboxes. Our users often complain that the button does not work in those mailboxes.
  • As far as ROI of the product, it has reduced URL clicks on malicious links which reduces IT-SEC and operations labor hours.

  • In the spirit of transparency, we haven't been using the training to its full potential. We have been assigning to our global distributors and have noticed a reduction in phishing breaches since assigning the training.
  • Our business objectives around security haven't been defined formally. Hoping to do that this year.

  • The results are measurable.
  • You can implement continuous improvement. There is not a "one-shot" approach.
  • You have the correct tools to drive the users to do correct behavior.

  • Development of a "culture" of IT Security Awareness (think twice before blindly opening an attachment or clicking a link)
  • Staff Vigilance against Cyber Security Threats (healthy paranoia)
  • Avoidance of CEO Fraud (Business Email Compromise) or Ransomware Threats

  • You can't really put a dollar figure on protecting your company against security threats.
  • Seeing your employees making security a priority and taking a second look at a email is such a win for an organization.

  • I don't think there are hard and fast numbers when it comes to Security Awareness ROI, as it would be next to impossible to come up with any defined metrics.
  • Phishing campaigns vary in their effectiveness, what I've found is that there is always something that will trigger your employees to click. Finding what that is for your company can help you train everyone to see the red flags.

  • We saw email phishing clicks drop from around 30% to 7% in the first year alone.
  • The software is priced fairly for us that it makes it not even a question for use to purchase the software.
  • I just wish I had more time to manage the software, because it does take some manual management.
