Performance was the main item for acquiring a primary storage, for use in enterprise applications. Usability issues and the reputation of the supplier and product are the basis for any company acquisitions.

This net our need. We need something that had better power and something that we could expand. This met both and we have never looked back. They could charge more for this box and I think people would still invest it in. It's been that good.

We needed speed and reliability. Pure seemed more expensive than we wanted to pay but we have received much more than we expected.
Data reduction and compression have been much higher than we expected.
Snapshot feature and the ability to mount snapshots in seconds has changed the way we develop and increased the speed our product development.
Simple simple simple. We have time to deal with other IT issues and never worry about storage.

Price and usability. Pre-Sales experience was also impressive. They were able to let us test-drive a unit and provided training on Purity before purchase commitment.

When we computed the TCO over 6+ years, we found that Pure Storage solutions would cost us less than comparable offerings from Dell, HP and other companies. In addition, with Pure Storage the support costs would never increase, no licenses to buy, no worries about hardware being outdated.

Prior to purchase, I had only reputation and reviews upon which to base my decision. Promises are easy to make, delivery on those promises is the hard part. We needed reliability and ease of management in a 24/7 environment. When a former colleague told me that they had migrated to Pure storage for all of their clinicals (in healthcare) and eliminated two storage management positions, I was sold. Having previously worked in healthcare, the fact that they trusted their clinicals to this platform AND were able to reduce management overhead, any doubts I had were put to rest.

The most important factor in our decision was the performance over I/O of the Pure Storage Flash Array, the easy integration with openstack (icehouse, folsom, mitaka and Queens) and also the price was a good factor.
then when we start using the Pure Storage we found that the support is very good too
