We are using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for the accounting of a convenience store and truck stop. We import information into QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise from the software that is used to run the store and truck stop through IIF files. This works really well for us. We also use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for linking to the bank and credit card companies and paying some vendors through ACH.
  • Importing files from other software and downloading from the bank.
  • Memorized transactions save a lot of time and training.
  • The Pay Bills feature is super helpful and saves a lot of time as well.
  • Being able to now have 2 companies open at the same time is super helpful.
  • Being able to export the whole database to the CPA firm again saves a lot of time and phone calls.
  • The ability to establish classes and track expenses for projects is awesome.
  • Wish we had the ability to track gallons. We are a truck stop and need to know how many gallons we buy and sell.
  • Matching up credits in Pay Bills can be challenging, especially if you make a mistake.
  • Wish in some of the reporting that it would automatically total some columns.
  • Downloading from the bank wish it would tell you the last time you downloaded and the dates you put in so you don't download the same information twice.
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is very flexible. When you have made a mistake, most mistakes are fixed easily. This is wonderful if you know what you are doing. If you don't know what you are doing QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise gives the user, the ability to do many things incorrectly. If you are not an accountant, you don't know you are doing it incorrectly. That can be a problem.

I use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to keep up with the finances of several of my small businesses. My accountant has mentioned multiple times that she loves how neat and organized my reports are.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is a great fit for the medium to large business. It works great for entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals, especially those who have multiple small businesses and side hustles to track.
Have a small side-hustle without a lot of transactions? This may be a bit of an over-kill for you.

We use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for accounting, payroll, and human resources purposes for two companies. We have three users, but only one that uses regularly as we are a small company. It is a program that we use daily. Being a small company, it's convenient that all of our payroll, tax information, human resources, and accounting information is in one place.
  • Accounting
  • Payroll
  • Tracking
  • Payroll reporting
  • Non subscription based software
  • Ease of use
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is good for handling everything in our small environment so that we don't have multiple software and have to double enter information or worry about integrations. However, it is a little pricey and cost could be an issue. We chose a subscription level that doesn't charge based on the number of paychecks, but that could be an issue depending on the size of the company and cash flow.

As an accountant for full service accounting and payroll processing for client companies. I am the owner of the company records and handle all aspects of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Batch entry
  • Bank imports
  • Ability to access and adjust all areas in the system as needed
  • Too many logins for security and validation
  • Batch prevailing wage reporting - all active jobs in a week in one pass instead of one job at a time.
  • Customer support access is a drag - the process is not as slick on this end as it may be for Intuit.
It is more clear, customizable and versatile than QuickBooks Online in addition to not being susceptible to internet outages.

I use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for all my accounting needs...the full spectrum. As a non-profit I need to track donations and send year end giving receipts which QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise allows me to do. It also has specialized reports for non-profits which is super helpful. It produces great reports and integrates with 3rd party 1099 software and my third party database software.
  • provides great reports
  • meets specific non-profit company needs
  • integrates with other third part software
  • I would like to see more ways to customize reports and have that process be more user friendly.
  • I would like to see the process of creating year end giving statements be made more user friendly. Since I only do it once a year, I have to figure the process out every year.
When I first started using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for my non-profit 7 years ago, there were some struggles, but updates they have made to the product have been great and improved a lot of the functions that were a struggle. It is super helpful for handling specific non-profit needs where the normal QuickBooks, while great, is set up for for-profit businesses. The ability to enter donations and allocate them by classes that I set up is an invaluable tool.

We use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to maintain the General Ledger for four companies. These firms are limited in size and hence there is little to no financial evaluation. The firms are mostly tax shelters.
  • Relatively easy to use
  • Easy to set up new companies
  • QB is not oriented enough towards accountants
  • Sometimes challenging to perform accounting functions, e.g., review prior bank reconciliations, find journal entries, debits and credits are not self evident.
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is for the non-accounting types. Just a simple General Ledger system that is fairly easy to use. If you truly want an accounting system, this is not it.

I love QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and have used it for over 20 years. It is an all in one accounting, inventory, purchase orders, sales orders, etc and you can also integrate with Avatax. It is extremely user friendly.
  • Adding new items to code to
  • Accounts payable
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Accounts receivable,
  • Inventory
  • More Reports that are standard
Honestly, I think QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is best suited to medium to a larger businesses. Very small businesses may have too little data to use this advanced of an ERP system.

QB is a handy desktop accounting program that and very efficient for our business in carrying out account management, invoicing, delivery challan, inventory management and clients management.

  • Account management
  • Inventory management
  • Distributor's / Client management
  • Inventory Management
  • Differential Batch Inventory

QB is very well suited for small and intermediate businesses, where we can manage businesses thoroughly in efficient ways. I give many opportunities to customize the software as per your needs, eg. Forecasting, Outstanding, Loans, Challans, Bills & and invoicing made easy.

We have utilized QB Desktop Enterprise for many purposes. It is our main tool for posting and processing bills, for creating quotes and invoicing clients. We also use the payroll feature and process our bi-weekly payroll as well as monthly government remittances via this tool. We use it regularly for job costing, for reference to past projects, for bank reconciliations and for our year end.
  • Accounts payable.
  • Accounts receivable.
  • Payroll.
  • Reconciliations.
  • Quotes.
  • Job costing.
  • Creating Invoices as Progress Draws on total quote, not just a part of one or broken down.
Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise is well suited, based on its cost, for a medium business. Its focus and functionality is for those who are using it for bill processing, invoice payment, payroll (where needed), regular account reconciliations, regular government remittances, job type breakdowns, etc. It might be less appropriate for a small business, where few transactions are done or where regular postings aren't being used.

We used QuickBooks Desktop until last month when we switched to QuickBooks Online. This move was mainly inspired by the discontinuation of support for the version we were using and the flexibility it provides for accessing financial data from anywhere with an internet connection. The transition has also enabled improved collaboration among remote team members, and we continue to benefit from the core features that make QuickBooks a reliable and comprehensive financial management solution for our organization.
  • Ease of use
  • Invoice creation
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Secure platform
  • Product support could be better
  • Periodic errors out of the blue (refresh solves them)
Ideal for language service providers, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise excels in efficiently managing clients, vendors, and subvendors. The robust reporting features further enhance its suitability, providing comprehensive insights for streamlined operations in the language services industry.

We utilize QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for our daily bookkeeping and financial reporting. This is where we enter in our daily transactions to track income as well as all of our accounts payable transactions. General Journal entries are quick and easy to input and allow for me to allocate every penny to the correct account. This is crucial for budgeting. The same can be said for accounts payable. Everything is well organized and easy to locate and analyze. With the click of a few buttons, I can find any expense with the corresponding invoice. We do not utilize QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for invoicing due to the nature of our business. All invoicing is handled through our veterinary software. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is where we go for all of our budgeting. Because everything is well organized and detailed, you can look at as big or as little of the picture as you want. We utilize the software to locate any areas of concern within the budget. The software can be difficult for new users without training as it is not extremely intuitive. There are numerous tutorials available, however, and once you learn how to navigate it, the software is incredibly easy to use.
  • Detailed organization of financial information
  • Several security measures and double check systems to ensure incorrect entries aren't made. This prevents accidental errors and protects the company from fraud.
  • Ease of overall use
  • Reporting can be as detailed or as general as you prefer. Each report allows you to look at the overall picture or access specific details of each aspect of the company financials.
  • The system is not intuitive. Without training or guidance from another user familiar with the program, it can be difficult to navigate.
  • Remote access requires a third party.
  • Bank Feeds can be finicky when trying to load transactions. There are frequent connection issues and errors.
Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise is great for any small business. It makes book keeping easy, efficient, and accurate. I couldn't imagine trying to manage the books without it. The checks and balances prevent unintentional mistakes or fraud. The security measures that can be put in place can give the owner the peace of mind that they can control access and truly know what is going on with their business at all times. A larger business with multiple users may be better suited for QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise requires a third party for remote access and only permits one user.

We used QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for paying our vendors, bank reconciliations, and budgeting. We utilize the budgeting for our board meetings and present financial reports to the board. It is exceptional because it can easily be exported to Excel and modified to show the data needed.
  • Updates on time
  • Data for financial reports anyway you want it
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Anytime there is a change then a notice needs to be sent
  • The PDF format for bank recs changed and I don't like it
It is exceptional in creating reports. We need to present financials to our board members so they see where we are in the year with the over-budget info in either dollars or percentages or both. It is also helpful if we want to do a comparison between years.

We use QuickBooks to pay our vendors and keep up with deposits. We do not send invoices via QuickBooks. We keep up with 1099 employees thru Quickbooks. It is very easy to reconcile our accounts in Quickbooks. Quickbooks Desktop is very easy to use and learn. I like the fact that I have plenty of room in the memo to describe the services we are writing a check for, or to put what the case expense was and for what client.
  • Ease of reconciliation
  • keeping track of deposits into varying accounts
  • keeping up with 1099 employees
  • report for certain criteria
  • make it easier to get Quickbooks Desktop when downloading
It is well suited for Law Practices. Quickbooks Desktop can keep all your accounts separate and easily reconcilable. There are many sub accounts to be able to keep up with client expenses and firm expenses. Gathering a list of 1099 employees is seemless.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise was used as our accounting software for 25+ years. During that time, we used it for payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, along with keeping all of our books and finance records. WE have recently switched to the QuickBooks Online because we do not want to host a server any longer.
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Finance Reporting
  • In my experience, importing Files is tricky and difficult to understand
  • Customer Service - we found it very difficult to find the right human to talk to about any issues or questions you might have
  • Have to host on your own server
I think QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is well suited for your basic accounting software needs. For us, the integration of an offsite point of sale system deemed glitchy and ultimately a failure. In my experience, the most difficult part is finding the right person who can help you with either the Intuit POS system or the QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

We use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for our general accounting needs as well as inventory management across multiple site locations. We also use the advanced inventory module. We've used QuickBooks many years for managing multiple ecommerce companies, amazon sales, and wholesale sales. We use it to track our inventory which ranges from simple single bottle supplements to complex multi piece builds for large packages of items. There are plenty of connectors to the web platforms available for Shopify, amazon, etc that work great.
  • Reporting
  • Inventory Management
  • Ecommerce Integrations
  • Enterprise could use the same integration/data pulls that QB online offers
  • direct connections to Shopify
  • direct connections to amazon
QuickBooks works great for managing our ecommerce companies. We are hitting a space issue due to the number of transactions we're are now running daily for sales receipts, etc. We use a separate hosting platform to be able to access enterprise from any location for our remote workers and for when we are out but have a secure connection.

We utilize Quickbooks for our order quotes, sales orders, invoicing, purchase orders, and reporting. There are extra features to Quickbooks that we do not use such as inventory, payroll, etc. It is a great product and pretty much the industry standard. It seems that intui/quickbooks has gotten so famous that they do not pay much attention to service. It is outsourced and the language barrier can be in issue at times. That is if you have 45 mins to an hour to wait to speak to someone.

I give them a 7 as they have built up the product to be basically the standard for small business. Most accountants only want your information in a Quickbook format. Their customer service and support is the only thing holding them back from a higher rating. I think they have gotten too big and they are ok with being above average, instead of striving to be excellent

We use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to managed the back office accounting for our online retail stores and have used it to do the same when we had our own brick and mortar store. Being a pretty common software we have found a lot of integrations that work with it from our shopping card, our order management, our shipping and even out sales tax reporting.
  • Easy of use
  • a lot of off the shelf integrations
  • cannot natively print price tags for our products. It can print bar code, but not easily print price tags .
  • I think the cost per user for an off the shelf product is a little high.
As mentioned earlier there are plenty of integrations that work with it making it easy to share or pass data between programs such as our shopping cart, order management software, tax reporting software, shipping, etc. The cost if significantly higher than the cost of regular Quickbooks Premier, but there as some nice features that help make the additional cost a little more palatable. We used to use Quickbooks POS with it, but that has been discontinued. We used that to print price tags to put on our products, but in my experience, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise or all it does with barcode and such does not have an easy way to take a PO and print price tags for shipments as they come in.
