What is Radmin Remote Administrator?

Radmin (Remote Administrator) is a remote control software used to work on a remote computer in real time as if using its own keyboard and mouse. It can remotely access the same computer from multiple places and use advanced File Transfer function, multi-user Text and Voice chats, Remote Shutdown and Telnet.

Radmin fully supports Windows 11, including User Account Control and Fast User Switching. Radmin utilizes DirectScreenTransfer(TM) technology to improve speed of work with a minimal CPU usage. The major advantage of DirectScreenTransfer(TM) is that it receives data directly from Windows, before it ever gets to the Video RAM. Radmin increases its security through integration with professional developments such as Windows Security, 256 bit AES data encryption for all data transferred, NTLM/Kerberos, modified Diffie-Hellman 2048 bit algorithm and Active Directory support. The new increased levels of Radmin Security protect all the active data on the network.

Access rights are individual for each user. Special IP-filter tables restrict access to specific IP addresses and sub-networks. With Radmin software, helpdesk technicians can remotely control user PC anywhere on a LAN, WAN or the Internet. Radmin is presented as ideal for telecommuters and mobile travelers, and as of use to big corporations for network management and helpdesk operations.

Secure remote access for IT Staff to network devices is a basic requirement for administration. We use both Microsoft RDP and Radmin for that effort. We have use cases for the use of both, but the primary reason we use Radmin is that it allows IT staff to access users computers without the need to end/suspend their active session. I believe Microsoft has recently released a shadow feature that allows this now, but we still use Radmin as our go to the corporate user network administration.
  • Remote access use and speed is good
  • Remote access allowing multiple sessions
  • Remote access logs are easily accessible
  • AES256-bit encryption
  • More detailed log information for security investigations
  • Securing access to logs
  • Prefer company ownership to NOT be Russian based
Basic network administration for unclassified systems is appropriate. I would never use it in a secure/classified environment based on its company ownership. We do not use the current version 3, so any improvements made may not be addressed in this review.

  • Cost is good for smaller companies compared to competitors
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan)
We actually use both products, but our primary tool for corporate user access by our IT staff is Radmin. We use Microsoft RDP for access to our network servers since we can better secure our server access with Microsoft's product.

During Covid period we had to install on our employees notebook a lot of software for allow them to work naturally also from their homes. I frequently found that some colleagues had problems using the vpn client, so I solved it by connecting individually on each machine using Radmin to proceed with an interactive training
  • Easy list of clients
  • Easy to use for end users
  • No external VPN connection required
  • Connection speed to improve
  • Infrequent but existing disconnections
  • None
If a colleague who works from home experiences connection problems with the VPN client and remote windows desktop with Radmin, it is possible to connect to the machine without any authorization from the end user and proceed with the configuration/installation of the valid applications for connecting to the remote desktop of the his work computer
