Rafflecopter has proven to be a reliable choice for running giveaways, particularly when there are multiple types of entry involved. Users have found the platform easy to set up and appreciate its convenience for lead generation purposes. One common challenge in running giveaways directly through Instagram is the time-consuming process of managing entries. Rafflecopter offers a simpler alternative, eliminating the need to create spreadsheets and allowing users to easily manage their giveaways. Implementing contests is made simple and effortless with Rafflecopter, as users can sign up and select winners with minimal effort. Many users have specifically used Rafflecopter for social media giveaways, considering it one of the best platforms available for this purpose. Additionally, the affordability of Rafflecopter makes it accessible to a wide range of users who appreciate the difference it makes in how they run their giveaways.

Easy Setup: Many users have found the setup process of the product to be incredibly easy and straightforward. They appreciate how quickly they can get started with running contests without any hassle or complications.

Variety of Entry Actions: Users highly value the product's ability to offer a wide range of entry actions. This feature allows them to provide different ways for participants to engage and enter contests, resulting in increased participation and excitement.

Responsive Customer Service: The customer service provided by the product is consistently praised for its exceptional responsiveness. Users commend the fast, clear, and direct assistance they receive whenever they have questions or need support.

Missing API: Some users have expressed frustration over the lack of an API in the software, which limits its functionality and integration with other systems. They feel that having an API would greatly enhance their ability to customize and automate processes.

Outdated Knowledge Base Article: Several reviewers have mentioned that they are disappointed with the outdated information in the knowledge base article regarding the consideration of an API. These users indicate a lack of updates and progress on this front, which makes them question the commitment to improving the software.

Lack of Updated Integrated Email Service Providers: A number of users have pointed out that the list of integrated email service providers has not been updated for a long time. This suggests a lack of effort in keeping up with industry changes and advancements, making it difficult for businesses to connect with their preferred email marketing platforms.

Users commonly recommend the following:

  • The system can be adapted to any business, providing equally good results for personal or corporate use.
  • Utilize the system to reach more people and generate sign-ups for newsletters and marketing interaction.
  • Start with the free trial and then become a user.
  • Try the free version first to see if it suits your needs, and play around with it before going live.

Users emphasize the adaptability of the system, its marketing capabilities, and the importance of trying it out through a free trial period before committing.

We use Rafflecopter to host giveaways for select departments of our non-profit organization. Rafflecopter provides an easy to setup platform to quickly create a giveaway for lead generation. An example would be to giveaway a pair or running shoes.
  • Easy to setup
  • Provides a good variety of entry actions
  • Has a simple end user interface
  • Does not have an API. A knowledge base article saying they are considering one has was last updated 8 years ago.
  • The list of integrated email service providers has not been updated in a very long time.
  • Must login to download payment receipts--no emailed receipt.
I'd say that Rafflecopter is a good tool for a basic giveaway. It doesn't seem like they've made any substantial changes in several years. If you're looking to host a one-off or occasional giveaway, Rafflecopter will do what you need it to do, but if a giveaway platform is a major component of your marketing strategy, look elsewhere.
  • Refer a friend entry feature
  • Multiple entry options on major social networks
  • Entry by email list sign up
  • Easy method of lead generation if you have the right prize
  • Quick, easy setup that anyone can manage
Having used all three software platforms, I believe that both ShortStack and Woobox have surpassed Rafflecopter in terms of features set. It's been a few years since I've used Woobox and ShortStack so they may not be fully comparable any longer.

The users are part of the digital marketing team at a non-profit organization. We create giveaways on behalf of other departments of our organization.

  • Lead generation
  • Customer engagement
IT does what we need at the moment, but if we consider creating more giveaway campaigns or have a large number of entires, we may look for another platform that integrates with our other tools.

At the time of purchase, the single most important factor was price.
The next time we are looking for giveaway software, we need one that can integrate with our other platforms. This could be through direct integrations created by the company or through Zapier.
  • Mailchimp
It was easy but very basic. No ability for customization.
  • Zapier
  • HubSpot
I have asked support in the last year and they have said they do not have plans to support Zapier or HubSpot.

Unless you use the email service providers they already integrate with, don't expect anything else. Here's the list of their currently integrated ESPs.

  • Constant Contact
  • Campaign Monitor

  • Rafflecopter helps to connect our business with our clients outside of clinic.
  • Rafflecopter allows the ability for our clients to spread the word about our clinic through our social media efforts.
  • Rafflecopter truly lets us see how successful we are with our clients, especially because if our patients were not truly satisfied with our services, then they would not want to take part in the giveaways and promotions that we run through Rafflecopter.
  • Be able to eliminate the test entries.
  • Ability to send the winner emails congratulating them outside of having to use Microsoft Outlook.
  • Be able to automatically link Rafflecopter up with our Constant Contact subscriptions to generate emails and to email the winners through it automatically.
  • One of the best ROI's that we have.
  • Allows us to see the our current customer satisfaction levels based on their participation.
  • Allows for us to be able to better improve our customer service and satisfaction by being so customizable.
The only thing that I could see is that we would need to have another person on staff to be able to commit to having more Rafflecopter promotions running so that we are truly utilizing it to its fullest potential. Currently we do not have a designated staff member to do so, so it is only done in between things, and is truly not as high of a priority that we would like for it to be.
We would highly recommend Rafflecopter to any other small business owner that is looking for better ways to interact with their customers and build up customer satisfaction and participation in the company. It is especially great how Rafflecopter helps to build our website rankings and social media (i.e., the number of "Likes" on our Facebook page).

Basic computer skills, knowledge and ability to use social media, ability to use constant contact, some programing knowledge to be able to implement it on our Facebook page and onto our website.
  • Encourage more customer-business interaction.
  • Allow for our clients to become more involved with our company outside of the clinic.
  • Allow for our business to be able to give something back to our loyal customers.
  • Increase our social media popularity.
  • Build up client list.
  • Giveaways and promotions that give back to our customers.
  • Awareness of new products and services.
  • Continue to show our appreciation for our customers.
  • To continue to build up our social media rankings.

  • Fast, clear, and direct responsiveness of customer service.
  • Step by step directions makes for easy contest implementation. Also Rafflecopter makes sure your contest is fully compliant with Facebook policies.
  • Website is fast and easy to navigate. Viewing your contest and making changes is very easy.
  • The ability to do multiple contests on the FB page, that are separate from one another. Or to have "special" type of contest that is useable for tradeshows. Whether or not the tradeshow contest is connected to FB.
  • Once our contest was up and running, we had a hard time figuring out how to get more people to our contest page. We have a small group [less than 200] and besides just posting on FB, we couldn't get others to our page/contest! Maybe more ideas on how to achieve this? I suspect the info is already somewhere on the Rafflecopter blog, I just need to find it.
  • The "More Upgrades' tag that vibrates at the bottom of the page from where you are working on your contest, gets annoying. I've bought the blogger level, please don't try to upgrade me further.
  • While this wasn't a fault of Rafflecopter, the winner of our first contest turned out to be a FB contester. Meaning the person uses FB exclusively to enter contests for give-aways and freebies. When we picked the winner, if I could have "vetted" the winner to prevent that, then I would have picked a different winner. Cherry picking our winner? You bet, cause this person wasn't ever going to be a customer…
  • Simply put with a 3 month contest we increased our page likes from 120 to 177.
I think not that the problem was with Rafflecopter, but rather our company and it's approach to Social Media. Being a conservative B2B company in the manufacturing / safety industry doesn't, at this time, offer us many "social" connections that leads to sale/brand awareness. I think we might be better served on a different social network, say LinkedIn. On a personal note, it was a pleasure using Rafflecopter. Easy, fast, cheap and I can see how it can be hugely effective to a social media campaign for those that are in a different industry than the one I work in. I will certainly be recommending the product to my friends and other businesses that are more appropriately served by Rafflecopter.
Having a good email list of active address would be helpful for converting those addresses to FB followers. Also having an active FB page with plenty of original content will better engage your audience. Having these two things will greatly help your contest with rafflecopter. Using and intergrating rafflecopter is easy and should be a breeze with your campaign. I highly recommend it!

The Marketing Department used Rafflecopter. Ideas and concepts were done as a team to come up with a contest idea, between the graphic designer, marketing director and the outbound marketing specialist. Once verbiage was decided, the graphic designer implemented the contest on the Facebook page. It was then the responsibility of the GD to manage and monitor the contest. Once the contest ended, again the GD picked and contacted the winner.
