Ramp is a platform that offers users the ability to self-manage expenses and track budgets, allocations, and approvals. According to users, one of the main advantages of Ramp is its automation capabilities, which save them a significant amount of time. The platform is intuitive and easy to use for staff members, making it simple to create both physical and virtual corporate credit cards for business expenses. Users appreciate the automated expense matching with receipts, as it ensures compliance and reduces manual effort. They also receive text message reminders to add receipts after each transaction, improving receipt compliance and visibility. Additionally, Ramp enables users to issue and lock cards easily, providing both security and convenience. Temporary cards can be created for specific purposes, streamlining card management. The alerts and automated repeat expenses feature saves time for users by sending reminders and automating routine tasks. Furthermore, the upcoming feature that allows setting other managers to oversee team spending is highly anticipated by users. Overall, Ramp increases visibility into corporate card expenses and streamlines expense reimbursements, simplifying expense management for small teams. It provides convenient purchasing credit cards with good spending controls and reporting processes, making it a valuable solution for businesses seeking an easy-to-use expense management tool.

Ramp's platform also offers several benefits when it comes to tracking and monitoring spending. Users find that the system allows them to efficiently track recurring and one-time expenses while maintaining a better overall view of their financial activities. This has proven especially useful for finance teams, who can now track expenses by vendor using the virtual cards feature, gaining valuable insights in the process. Employees have quickly adapted to utilizing company cards through Ramp without the hassle of traditional expense reporting systems. The streamlined expense management process has been well-received by staff members who appreciate how it simplifies expense reporting and coding transactions. They report that Ramp reduces the time spent on expense reporting and bookkeeping while making it easy to implement within their workflow. Administrators also benefit from the platform, as it provides a zero-cost solution with higher rebates and a better overall view. With Ramp, they can efficiently monitor and manage expenses, ensuring responsible purchasing decisions across the organization. In summary, Ramp simplifies expense management, offers convenient purchasing options, and provides valuable insights into spending patterns for both employees and finance teams.

Flexibility in card options: Reviewers have appreciated the flexibility provided by the platform, such as allowing users to send employees physical Ramp cards and create as many virtual cards as needed. This feature has been highlighted by several users, providing them with different options to access and use their cards based on their preferences and needs.

Integration capabilities: Many reviewers found the integration capabilities of the platform to be beneficial. Specifically, they mentioned the integration with Amazon Business for matching receipts to spending transactions and the integration with Gmail for automatching receipts. These integrations have streamlined the expense tracking process for users, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.

Easy setup of virtual cards: Users have found it easy to set up virtual cards on the platform, allowing them to quickly create and manage virtual cards for different purposes. This functionality has been praised by multiple reviewers, as it reduces manual effort and ensures accurate record-keeping for expenses through email receipt matching.

Integration Issues: Some users have experienced problems with the integration of Ramp and Xero, finding that it does not work as expected. They have encountered difficulties in setting up the integration and have found the settings and configurations to be unintuitive.

Expense Reporting Challenges: Several reviewers have expressed frustration with the expense reporting process on Ramp. They feel that there is a need for more integrations to reduce the time spent on reporting expenses for grant reports. Additionally, some users have pointed out that Ramp does not immediately recognize purchase cancellations, resulting in unnecessary reminders to submit receipts or tag canceled purchases.

Lack of Mobile App: Users have requested a dedicated mobile app for both iOS and Android platforms. They believe that having a mobile app would improve their experience by allowing them to categorize expenses more easily, request temporary limit increases via Slack or mobile, and access Ramp's features on-the-go.

Users highly recommend Ramp for several reasons. Firstly, they find Ramp to be a great tool for payments and virtual credit card programs. Secondly, users recommend using Ramp for closing out the books easily and tracking expenses, as it simplifies the process significantly. Lastly, users appreciate that Ramp is easy to use, making expense reporting management a breeze. Users also recommend Ramp for improving expense tracking, purchase card programs, and reimbursement systems. They believe that Ramp is a good solution that is easy to implement and offers an excellent user interface. Additionally, users recommend Ramp for managing company expenses without a dedicated accounting team and as a must-have part of any growing company's core infrastructure.

  • Matches receipts sent via text or email.
  • Integrates with Amazon Business and matches receipts to spending transactions
  • Integrates with gmail and provides another mechanism to automatch receipts to transactions.
  • More flexible spend rule requirements that align with the $75 IRS compliance rule for food/travel purchases. Our organization has a $25 compliance threshold for food and travel. It would be helpful if Ramp provided the ability to customize this type of spending requirement for particular categories with respect to receipt requirements.
  • A little more support in implementing a two-entity environment.
  • Increased heads-up on : auto approval of credit card returns.

  • Even more integration to have us spend less time on reporting expenses for grant reports
  • This does not happen often, but if you make a purchase and then cancel it with the vendor, for some reason, Ramp does not immediately recognize that purchase cancellation and will continue to remind you to submit a receipt or tag it as an accidental charge, but there is no option to tag it as a canceled purchase.

  • Easy to create and manage employee cards (manage approved vendors, create spend policies, etc..)
  • Effective workflow for employees to submit and reimburse expenses (mileage, for example).
  • Can centrally manage all vendor bills and pay them from one place.
  • Some canned reporting can be better
  • The ability to toggle on/off the display of all 1-time virtual cards would be a great value add.

  • You can forward your receipts to receipts@ramp.com and it will auto-approve.
  • You can easily reverse charges if an employee accidentally places a charge on their work card.
  • You can send employees physical Ramp cards.
  • You can create as many virtual cards as needed.
  • I think Ramp can help do a better job of budgeting management - how can expenses be better tracked and allocated for specific team members/departments?
  • I wish there was a way for Ramp to break up departments on the 'company' page. There are a ton of employees and sometimes it would be great to see them broken out, almost like an organizational chart vs having everyone listed out in one place.
  • I really like that Ramp flags when an employee might have triggered spending too much, a false charge, etc. However, it would be great to get notifications from Ramp more thoroughly on spend by employee (i.e. x employee spent $100 on food this week, x amount on travel) to get more of a high level report back on all the moving pieces.
