  • Redmine was a great improvement over using email and shared spreadsheets to manage bug/issue tracking for our software projects. It made it easy for anyone to look up the status of various issues and track the project's progress.
  • It's been a critical tool for team collaboration and issue tracking on a project with remotely located team members.

  • Redmine saves us a LOT of time by making it super easy to track many projects at one time.
  • Redmine saves us money because it is FREE!
  • Redmine has made it easier for us to track issues, bugs, and feature requests from customers - which ultimately allows us to see what is most important to our clients and what they'd like to see next in our products.

  • Customers receive updates on all progress made for their issues -- this results in an informed customer who is being given transparency on all steps of our process.
  • Customers have responded well from being able to not have to track down emails and instead come to a central place for requests.

  • Positive: Redmine's initial impact is minimal: in terms of Dollars-the cost of acquisition is the price you pay for Electricity, Internet bandwidth and hardware
  • Redmine's REAL cost is time and knowledge: You will need a Linux expert to implement Redmine.
  • Readmine's configuration is also Time intensive, and it's better to augment your current staff, or hire someone directly to implement your Redmine configuration changes.

  • The "free" bit definitely has a nice impact on ROI. Granted, there are other factors, but not shelling out a ton of cash at the outset is definitely a plus.
  • Once everyone gets into the flow of things, Redmine quickly becomes a huge factor in ensuring proper communication and quality in projects. Having everything centrally located reduces the time and effort needed to gather necessary information to proceed forward.

  • Redmine has made it more efficient to monitor who is working on what and how much time they have available.
  • Redmine has helped our consultants stay within budget
  • Redmine does need a lot of data entry, but it's fairly easy to do.

  • When you have continuous integration in your project you know that all the investment of time and money is well justified.
  • You can positively expand your company and hire remote staff, since Redmine has support for agile development methodologies, and you can get input from the team as it records the tasks that each one has done and you can see how the sprint times are according to the scrum methodology and to be able to draw more appropriate and accurate estimates.
  • Positive impact due to the versatility of integration with third-party tools.
