It's being used within our Group HQ for treasury and within various local and offshore subsidiaries. It automates a large number of daily, weekly, and other ad hoc processes for treasury, provides a detailed sub-ledger for all treasury transactions, and facilitates posting to general ledgers including IFRS hedge accounting requirements and end-to-end management of key financial risks such as cash flow, funding and liquidity, foreign exchange, and interest rate risk. It also has integrated payment functionality via SWIFT for settlements, and we are in the process of implementing automated FX transaction confirmation. There is substantial other functionality that we have not yet chosen to activate.
  • Automates liquidity management via bank account interfaces across a large number of global bank accounts
  • Enables decentralized access and management at, local, regional, and global levels
  • End-to-end tracking, reporting, accounting, and settlement of all derivative and financial trades.
Cons
  • The user interface is not as fresh or pretty as some competitors, but is nonetheless very functional.
  • Advanced report-writing likewise is not as simple as some competitors, however once set up, reports are usually easy to modify.
Reval is suited to a large number of transactions across a disaggregated business. It may not be well suited where especially complex derivatives and highly stylized reporting are required.
  • Excellent ROI in terms of being able to scale volume and complexity without adding headcount
  • Excellent ROI in terms of automation
  • Much more timely and effective management of key financial risks facing the business
GTreasury acquired Visual Risk (which was an alternative product), but we preferred Reval for processing grunt (albeit GTreasury/Visual risk had an easier user interface).

Have used Sungard/Quantum previously, however, I haven't looked at it recently.
They are usually prompt and reliable. Occasionally, we have time difference issues as support is often offshore some local staff turnover since ION acquired Reval, but this has been managed.
