Majority of our team uses as an interface to track all of our sox controls and related details. Further, we submit our control evidence monthly to support our year end audit on controls over financial reporting. I've recently begun exploring some of the advanced features such as analytics and other tools to support our growing internal audit function.
  • Clean interface that is user friendly
  • Assists in documenting controls and tracking performance
  • Analytical tools available to support compliance
  • Tracking request submission to a specific month can get tricky.
  • Sometimes takes a little extra effort to match an email request to the correct request in the interface
  • Continue to promote your academy and upcoming learning opportunities
Product is a great tool to serve as a central point to compile and document sox controls. This allows transparency across the team and teammates to edit and view progress. The tool also provides an interface that will make it easy for the internal audit team to track and compile control requests. I particularly like how it lets all of the control owners take ownership of their controls. I am currently exploring some of the advanced tools that support testing and the accuracy and completeness of our data, which i'm very excited to explore.

I use Diligent Highbond in conjunction with the ACL/Analytics exchange tool provided by Diligent Highbond. We also began using the robots tool in Diligent Highbond. We would use the ACL tool to pull in data and build in logic and then often send the output data to a container in Diligent Highbond for further review. This would allow us to have other teams review output for approvals, etc.
  • GRC Review
  • Python integration
  • Process flows
  • Overly complicated ACL coding
  • Bugs and quirks
  • Often runs slowly
From my experience, It is very well suited as a GRC tool. It is fairly easy to push data into Diligent Highbond and set up permissions and approval flows for other colleges to review the records in question. Where it really falls short for me is the ease of use beyond doing that. Actually building out the data flow in the other Diligent tools is rough and makes using the solid GRC aspect not worth it.

The Internal Audit department is utilizing it to document its annual SOX assessment and other IA activities. It helps provide a central repository for documentation and supports collaboration, facilitating on-demand reporting. The risks, controls, procedures, results, and observations are all maintained in HighBond.
  • HighBond is great for managing requests, to do’s, and review notes
  • HighBond is generally flexible with the configuration and terminology you can use.
  • HighBond is a good tool for centralizing risks, controls, test plans, and procedures in a framework that allows you to standardize its usage.
  • There’s a bit of a learning curve for reports
  • Report structure is limited and so it forces you to pay for ‘impact reports’ instead of allowing customers to have more freedom in report design
  • The dashboard lists every step in your business process (or area) instead of showing progress by phase. For example, if you want to know where you stand in a business process, it counts every step within the control (for ex. walkthrough, test plan, interim, final). So a process that has 10 controls will show you how many steps out of 40 are completed ( 10 x 4) which is not helpful.
  • Analytics/robotics is not set up by default and you have to have them set up hosting for it (even if you already paid for the package).
  • You cannot have customized dashboards automatically updated somewhere. You have to go into the reports module and double-click the report to run it.
  • The storyboard feature is very limited and isn’t linked to the reports module as mentioned above.
It’s well suited for managing projects, SOX, audit, or other, where you need collaboration and workflow capabilities. It creates some nice simple charts and reports (bar charts, stacked pie charts), which export nicely in different formats, which can be shared with others. You are allowed to grant contributor access to others you work with to upload information, but you are also able to request info without granting someone a contributor license.

We use HighBond by Galvanize to manage all of our Internal Audit and SOX Compliance activities. It helps streamline and organize all of these activities and make it easy to add users across the company. This allowed us to have a web based solution that was easily accessible and was a significant upgrade in terms of organizing and setting up our annual audit calendar.
  • Simplicity and ease of use
  • Extremely smooth set up
  • Excellent performance and minimal technical issues
  • The report writing feature is very powerful
  • The current setup does not have a risk management option.
  • There is not an easy way to catalog all audits and then cycle through them.
  • The set up of tabs within a project can be a bit cumbersome and excessive.
HighBond by Galvanize is a perfect tool for simple to use and easy to implement audit plan management. It is extremely easy to set up, install, and executive your audit plan. The audit issue management module as well as the report function are both very robust and add a lot of value. Currently, there is not a way to manage all audit entities in an efficient manner.

Simple and easy way to provide data analytics and avoid the repetitive process of your organization. HighBond tool is having the ability to automate and possibility to include audit data from different sources. It helps to analyze the real time reports for better decision making. Making dashboards is easy, we can check the regulation and risk profile properly.
  • Risk Management
  • Dash boards
  • Decision making
  • High Price
  • Connection issue with data source ( sometimes)
  • Job aids should be provided
HighBond platform can easily control manual tasks, security risk, and manage all compliances perfectly and it is a user-friendly user interface. We are currently using the tool to monitor various analytics SCM, functions, location, and different platforms. I like helpful community and live chat support to resolve our query as early as possible. Performance on script execution is good.

We use HighBond by Galvanize in doing the tedious analytics part of our audit works. We use it in our department in our engagements throughout the company. HighBond (formerly ACL) aids us in automating data analysis. It made us more efficient in executing our work, and helped us run more audit works in a year to year basis. Before, some of our analytics works would consume us weeks/days to finish. But with HighBond we are able to finish analytics with just a click and a few minutes, then we are done.
  • We can process thousands (even millions, I think) units of data without crashing.
  • Scripting language in HighBond is easier compared to other programming languages.
  • It can process large data analytics in seconds or minutes.
  • It can be used to execute other programs by using scripts.
  • Improvement/more details on error prompts could be helpful, since most of the time errors within the tool are vague, and we always need to go to support to be able to understand what's going wrong.
  • It should include in the training manuals the information about reserve words that aren't allowed to be used as table or column names.
HighBond by Galvanize is well suited for those who are executing large data analytics. It can process large data within seconds or a couple of minutes. It is really helpful, especially if the data you're doing analytics on is extracted from different platforms. HighBond can be used to have a link to a specific tool (e.g Active Directory) and it would be able to extract the data needed for you. If your engagements are more on process review, this is not the tool for you.
