Backup is the new cool with Rubrik
We’re using Rubrik to eradicate tapes from our environment backing up NAS, VMware, HyperV, and Nutanix. It’s a central IT service for all infrastructure provided to our business. It brings a rapid restore capability compared to tape which took days to get back and that’s just the tape let alone the restore process.

Levels of intelligence can’t compare - one is a legacy thought process; the other modern.

Data Integrity Simplified
Rubrik is used as the primary data protection solution.
- Rubrik simplifies protection of assets and data across the estate, making it easy to protect VMs, SAN, database and OS/file level information.
- The search function from the very front page makes it very easy to identify data for restore. That ease of use becomes the standard across the entirety of the restoration process - quick and pain free.
- RBAC access is industry standard in data protection application and it's not different here - again very easy to set up with depth and granularity for those that require it.
- Automation of restores should be available from the GUI - at present one must configure scripts to interface with the APIs

- This is the least amount of time I have spent managing backups. The efficiency and reliability mean I spend my time looking at other things.

With the exception of Backup Exec's GRT I rate all features of Rubrik above the competitors i have used. To restore single mail items one must mount the volume/DB into a Kroll server (License provided on request from Rubrik)
I've had some issues with slow file level restores which causes delay in an RTO during a recent outage.
Other than that, VM live mounts to ESX, live mount of MS SQL DBs and the export of AHV VMs have never let me know - really good technology.

We use Rubrik to backup all our VMs, Datacenters, SPs, and etc. It is used throughout the institution. We wanted Disaster Recovery solutions and instant access to snapshots/files. This product does it all. Rubrik addresses DR across our two campuses with fantastic speed and when you need to live mount or export the data, it is there for you.
- The UI is beautiful and super easy to use. Very straight forward.
- Downloading a backup on-prem was super fast.
- Restoring a server was quick and efficient. Again, the downtime was very minimal.
- Works Well with Azure.
- Format support is great.
- Easy to learn and it's like an Apple Time Machine backup where you can browse for files and mount pretty much instantly.
- EMC Isilon support is great.
- Works well with Nutanix.
- If you have a single Brik, you won't be able to upgrade without downtime to a node.

- It's positive because we no longer have to worry about if backups are working in intervals or if there's snapshots throughout the day. Rubrik does it all.
- A third party vendor messed up on a business application and we were able to quickly revert back so operations is not hindered.

It's like day and night. Rubrik is super user friendly and very fast. Avamar has a learning curve and it is quite confusing sometimes. There is no more guessing on when backups should occur or when it occurs. It is all in a single glance with Rubrik GUI.
Our backups no longer take days, it was relatively faster by up to 50%.
Rubrik is very user friendly and just about anyone who knows what the expected ROI or RTO is will be able to manage the Rubrik Cluster. It is simply clean and easy to use.
