What is Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware) is a cloud-based eCommerce solution that touts flexibility and scalability for enterprises. It features merchandising tools, such as sorting, filtering, image zooming, and more, allowing customers to browse products with confidence and control. Commerce Cloud also provides inventory management controls, built in to the platform. Its flexibility is meant to accommodate diverse business logic models, and its web-based UI is meant to simplify management and control for less than technically savvy administrators. Visitor/shopper data are leveraged to provide intelligence, and personalize the shopping experience of individuals or segmented targets groups.

The Commerce Cloud is now part of the Salesforce Customer Success Platform, a platform for retailers to engage their customers online and in stores throughout the customer lifecycle, including marketing to community management and customer service.

Global Sites; larger commerce organizations but not too large where the % rev-share would affect its feasibility in a feature comparison. Salesforce is rock solid in infrastructure and rarely has outages or issues; it scaled appropriately for holiday peak and was able to accomplish anything we put our minds to as long as we staffed development appropriately. The latter, however, is not to be overlooked. Developers are necessary and expensive.

It suits all most businesses from small to large as the licensing goes based on no of licenses cost side it is efficient. Commerce cloud borrows features/ objects from Salesforce core experience cloud, CPQ. Etc, if you are already familiar with them, that makes it easy to go live. High availability and scalability as the platform is a SaaS solution.

I think it's well suited for most marketing efforts and campaigns. The integration into Salesforce Sales Cloud is extremely useful for all sales and marketing users to track all potential leads that could be potentially converted. The inclusion of Einstein Analytics is also extremely useful and helps give our users new ideas about when to best reach out and how to reach out to the leads.

It is quite helpful for a business that requires integration of social networks so that the customer can connect via their profiles. In addition, for companies that make shipments, the platform allows it to segregate into various places.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud does a great job of managing contacts with customers. I have the ability to track emails, phone calls, and even look at attached products and services. I enjoy the ability to create email templates and also to manage who is the admin of said accounts.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud definitely reduces the time required by IT to implement new site features and categories. It's a complete tool that provides all the functions needed to implement and improve your websites. Also, since Salesforce Cloud includes CRM services, all lead generation and clients information are fully integrated with the platform together with finance activities.

We have used Salesforce in team meetings when we need to use the "chatter" feature when we want to leave a record of our communication so customers and supervisors can see how the team and members were communicating to solve the problem. It was the perfect tool when customers disagreed or were dissatisfied with the decisions our company made. We were able to give written records on our decision-making process and the thoughts explained. However, I would not use this software if you do not need all of the features. There are other software with fewer features that are easier to use and access. Again, make sure there is good training on the software before integrating it with a company.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud has definitely helped the sales department interact with other departments in a fast and efficient way. We are able to tag people in chatter, submit agreements to legal for review, submit cases to our support team, accounts receivable team, and so on. Our SDR team creates opportunities and adds in background notes before passing the opportunity to the sales team to give us background on the prospects.

For a large business, this is probably a good platform. But for small businesses, [I believe] this is garbage, mainly because the cost associated becomes a significant detriment on a companies ability to see any ROI. [I believe] they have no scalable pricing based on organization size. [...]

Salesforce Commerce Cloud is well suited for medium to large sized eCommerce platforms (mainly B2C but B2B could work as well) who are looking to streamline their web processes and website functionalities while incorporating multiple departments. If you are a small business and have tighter margins, this may not be the best choice for you as there may not be as many opportunities to utilize all of the CRM's features and you may be at a financial loss because of it. Otherwise, this platform is great for organization and providing a helping hand in your eCommerce roadmap!

We are delighted with the customizing options, Einstein, and the overall flow of the program. It's very user-friendly and helps keep us organized and on top of projects/leads.

The application is a premier sales contact application which we have adapted as our primary work order and job program. The application can be easily customized by Salesforce accredited programmers and project managers. Also, the program can be used with other third party applications such as Financial Force, which is a related accounting & financial reporting app.

Salesforce is well suited for organizations looking to work collaboratively within their organizations. I believe all organizations should be enabled by this software or something similar however for a very small team that is just starting out it might be slightly less necessary.

The overall front-end design is modern and works well on all devices, and performs smoothly. The extensions into other Salesforce applications make the entire funnel marketing easy with attribution. Integrations are always delayed, order management is good but not a 1:1 match in real-time.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud really helps you if you want to change your strategy guide to a digital transformation.

We changed our strategy completely from selling in the traditional way with sales representatives to having a complete digital transformation. It helped us manage our sales over our webpage, apps, and social profiles from the start. It helped us increase brand awareness online, and sales really increased because we didn't depend on our sales representative to go to a town where they only go once every two months.

Well suited for larger sales teams with hubs across the globe. Well suited for teams with a defined marketing strategy who need to track leads and are keen to track metrics. Also suited for leadership who are interested in tracking rep performance.

I would recommend Salesforce Commerce Cloud to anyone who wants to provide more personalized shopping experiences to their customers while intertwining other capabilities the ecosystem offers like with Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, etc. There are so many options. You can't dismiss one or use only one! Salesforce's elaborate product offerings exist for many reasons.

It is very well suited to use when marketing your product on a website to drive sales or just for clients to explore their options. It can hold and manage information very well. The ease of access makes it so much more attractive for the clients and makes their experience much more easy.
