What is Salesforce Sales Engagement?

Salesforce Sales Engagement, formerly Einstein High Velocity Sales, is a cloud-based sales engagement platform that uses artificial intelligence capabilities to increase sales productivity.

Categories & Use Cases

Hopefully, it will get better soon

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We're trying to use it to automate email campaigns and cadences. It hasn't panned out that way yet, since there has been some issues in implementation. We're hoping to eventually be able to set up cadences; then once we receive a contact or lead from various outreaches we can add them to a cadence hopefully leading to a meeting and revenue.

Pros

  • Cadence builder - very detailed, and extensive cadence builder
  • I like that we can add whole lists to a sales cadence
  • I also like that we can do one offs, and add single names to a cadence(s)

Cons

  • The cadence builder is both a high and low; sometimes it is almost too complex, and doesn't always work as it should
  • The program doesn't work with reports, only lists. I can't include certain fields within lists, so I'm unable to base lists on those criteria to add to a cadence
  • We're having an issue with a cadence right now, where instead of sending an automated email, it's creating a task. It's strange, and they don't seem to know why it's happening.

Most Important Features

  • Email automation - we are looking for a tool to do this well
  • Lives in Salesforce - we are trying to do our work predominantly in our CRM, so our reach outs will be held there
  • Building simple cadences has been ok

Return on Investment

  • We haven't noticed much monetary ROI from HVS
  • The cadence builder does take time to figure out and implement, so we've had to spend more manpower hours to do so
  • Right now, we've had to go back to an old auto email program that doesn't live in Salesforce. We were hoping to get rid of this program, and save some money. Unfortunately, we aren't able to fully rely on HVS yet.

Strong Report Generation and Notification System for All Company-Wide Departments

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Salesforce daily here at Everlasting Capital. Every time a file gets updated in our system, the automated IQ email system helps notify both the individual sales rep and client that is involved with each financing decision. This has become a daily procedure as we rely on these automated emails through SalesforceIQ to remain organized, keep clients updated, and relay decisions as soon as they're initially made.

Pros

  • Excellent response time.
  • Extensive notifications for all parties.

Cons

  • Fewer generic emails.
  • Fewer frequently repeated emails.

Return on Investment

  • Significant increase in efficiency in daily procedures.
  • Faster response time in closing deals quicker leading to additional revenue.

Salesforce Inbox give us valuable insights to all emails we send to our contact base

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We just salesforce Inbox to attach to our email client and it helps streamline tracking and scheduling of meetings with our clients. Our salesteam use it every day.

Pros

  • The ability to link contacts and attach emails to records without having to open salesforce has saved us countless hours and make it contact touchpoints far more clear in salesforce
  • The scheduling tool is amazing as we can send suggested times to the client without the hassle of a back and forth.
  • Being able to search contact records, see if there is a live opportunity before sending the email.
  • We now reduce the amount of back and forth emails with salesforce inbox.

Cons

  • More customization in the mobile app without code.
  • Creating templates on the fly.
  • Calendar can be synced with Gsuite or Outlook calendar not just single Salesforce calendar.

Return on Investment

  • Positive. We close deals faster and don't need to have a long thread of back and forth emails
  • We have far valuable insights into if the client opened the email and how many times they've opened their emails
  • We can schedule sends so it appears at the top of the customers inbox.

Falling short of other outreach tools

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My company decided to consolidate as many tools as possible within Salesforce and we, therefore, got rid of another sales outreach tool in favor of High-Velocity Sales. I use it to reach out to current customers, send them event invites, and get in touch with my whitespace accounts. With a few exceptions, I mostly work with SMBs and medium enterprises, therefore have around 1000 accounts in my patch, so an outreach tool is paramount for me to do my job efficiently. With that said, HVS is a big disappointment. The UI doesn't make any sense, it's non-intuitive to use and a process that was incredibly easy with all the other similar tools I've used (that also integrate with Salesforce), HVS complicates the process tremendously for no apparent reason. Why can't all the different functions be under the same view? Why do I have to create templates to create the steps in a cadence? How come I can't edit a cadence after I've first activated it? If I'd like to make edits, I need to clone the original and create a whole new cadence... I don't even know where to begin in terms of adding prospects to it...

Pros

  • I'm not a fan of anything.

Cons

  • Loads of room for improvement; the entire UI, in fact. Please make it easier to make edits after a cadence has been activated, add prospects to cadences, and create the cadences in the first place.

Most Important Features

  • I can send emails with it.

Return on Investment

  • It's been negative in that I have to spend at least 20 times longer creating a cadence than I would with any other sales outreach tool.
