[We] utilized SAP Analytics Cloud for analyzing the customer behavior while upselling and bundling the product offerings. This is used to personalize the user experience based on the customer profile and collaborate between different datasets and individual data points that are used to infer various relationships, such as positioning of items in the catalog to obtain more sales, and to see whether we can obtain better results while having any promotional event in the client's offering easily from the SAP dashboard.

For scenarios where there is a specific dataset in a predefined format, this is easy to implement and import the data to obtain the bigger picture while feeding the data into different analytics. However, for projects where the incoming data is not uniform and/or coming from disparate datasets, it is not the ideal implementation and requires ETL to be performed on the data.

  • Overall sales have shown a positive trend
  • Product information is now better served to the customers
  • ROI is still on the lower side for clients; this is a common feedback that we've received from our clients
  • A wider range of devices can now access the solution thanks to the responsive design of the same
Overall this is a matured product, having arrived recently, but is capable of providing BI to a wide variety of industries. There is still a lot of scope in terms of how well-matured its reporting and the widgets can become, but at the same time, its iterative nature has kept it current and provided a lot of intelligent feature sets.

The single most useful feature being the interoperability with other parts of the SAP ecosystem helps it have an edge over the common tools by industry leaders like google and microsoft. This in addition to the dashboard console which allows the implementer to keep track of all the handy mechanisms allow the end consumer to keep a close eye on the different promotions and campaigns and allowing for a better ROI on the product.
  • Oracle CX Commerce (formerly Oracle Commerce Cloud)
Mainly due to the fact that SAP Analytics Cloud has [...] good integration with a host of SAP technologies and marketplace, thereby making it an easier choice for the target clients who get [...] better connectivity and lesser licensing costs, making this a win-win proposition. Additionally, as this is frequently updated, the end customers are able to make use of the constant innovations that are coming out of SAP on a regular basis without having to reinvent the wheel (due to the use of cloud) and also without the upfront costs involved in the hardware to be used in a conventional setup.

The SAP support via the launchpad is a mixed offering; while it is helpful to diagnose and advise a fix for the common issues, I feel that the current support is on the slower side, especially during the critical business times. At times, this support is time consuming, especially on time critical issues, but the support works best if given some time which is the same SLA as per business standard.
No other premium subscription or services were taken as the standard offering takes care of the customer support and the issues are typically resolved at the earliest.
Yes
As mentioned earlier, the resolution of the bugs takes some time (which is mentioned in their SLA document) but once submitted with proper data, the bugs typically get resolved on time.
During a go-live, there was a mission critical issue that was causing the entire analytics to fail and nothing was getting stored on the analytics dashboard. Thankfully, the support crew identified the root cause as the CORS security configuration and provided us with a solution which worked and our go-live activity did not have any major issue from there on.

Currently, we use the Business intelligence portion of SAP Analytics Cloud for data viz and reporting. It has very strong integration with our current data models in BW, which is a huge advantage to rolling out content.

Digital boardroom - we use this to combine content - I generally describe the stories as the chapters and DiBo as the book. We can plug content in as we need, which is very useful. We also see performance improvements there as we can split our content instead of having to stack pages.

We have also invested in planning and are currently in the process of scoping that for financial planning. This should be a big win for us as we will have one platform for planning and BI.

  • Strong integration for BW users

Strong integration with BW was a key decision for us. The speed of deployment was also very positive.
Positives and negatives to both, Tableau is the best visually but not as strong on integration. Power Bi is very customization but is very ungoverned.

SAP Analytics Cloud is the only reporting tool we use to present Business information Dashboard to our Management Community users in order to take the right decision. SAP Analytics tools came up with Analytical Application, Linked Analysis, Time series chart, Smart discovery and Planning features which helps end users to Integrate all the necessary information in a single Interactive dashboard with easy scripting and navigation to use SAP Analytics Cloud instead of presenting required information in several static pdf's are the main scope.
  • Analytical Application : We can manipulate the data as we like using Scripting.
  • Smart Discovery: Easy way to present a dashboard with more insights in a single click.
  • Linked Analysis and Linked Dimension: Best feature to integrate similar dimensions from different models and to filter the chart data via a single click using linked analysis.
  • Time series and Forecasting: For the data dimension data the time series chart gives the best projection along with forecasted scenarios.
  • Tab Script: Best Feature to present multi charts in segregated format with aligned via a single tab-like feature.
  • Performance Analysis tool: The tool will predict and present the blockers in the application.
  • Optimization: Provided with an Optimization feature to present the dashboard in a better performance way.
  • Optimization: Optimization features in the Application are not enabled with Mobile devices.
  • Canvas and Grid pages: When the story is created in Canvas it is not enabled with Mobile devices.
  • Tool tips: Tool tips are not supported with mobile devices.
  • Variance Charts: Few charts are not supported with mobile enable.
  • Dropdowns: Few dropdown menus and single selection choice is missing with the story as in the application.
  • I would like undo and redo in applications.
  • Auto is mandatory in choosing width and height.
  • Story 2.0: I am still waiting for good update on the story 2.0 with more enhanced features.
  • I would like to see more integration with stories and applications.
It is well suited to present all the different information in a single dashboard where you can manipulate data as you like using Scripting. Linked feature to filter different charts from the dimension you choose. A few missing features, like Mobile, enable optimization for the application giving less preference to use the dashboard by business users. Dropdowns and single selections from stories will give good visualization insights to the dashboard.

  • Numeric chart: When the scale changes the value automatically changes during rounding.
  • Time series graphs will give a good impact on projecting financial data and can be best seen if the company is facing any crisis like covid, missing investment, etc.
  • A lot of ML algorithms running in the backend to project the forecasting scenarios could be improved.
Most companies restrict the usage of stories due to missing features of dropdown and integration with applications. Mobile enable needs to be provided for all the different pages of stories and also with Optimized options of applications. Due to the usage of java scripting in the application, users are restricted to use the analytical application when they are coming from technical Business Intelligence background where ABAP and SQL is the main programming language.

Since SAP Analytics Cloud is the most prestigious Reporting tool which is dominating the market definitely I will choose Product features and the latest updates that the product is providing to me as per our market needs while delivering critical information to the end users.
SAP Analytics Cloud is the product from SAP itself where most of the companies are well integrated with SAP S4 HANA, SAP BW, and SAP BW4HANA so this reporting tool helps us with the best integration and for faster reporting performance instead of other versions and also it is coming with latest features like smart discovery, Broad room, different live and acquired connections with several data sources which is best fit for reporting .
40
They are working in different verticals to present Finance data, logistics, sales, and controlling system data.

We work on all the latest features that SAP provides and incorporate them into our daily work to give the best dashboards to the end users and we also work on the preview tenant to identify flaws and report them to SAP.
  • Analytical Application
  • Linked Analysis
  • Tight integration with Scripting so that users can design their own dashboard
  • Mobile enable
  • Broad Room
  • Planning
  • Time series charts and Forecasting
  • Presenting all KPIs on a single screen is a bit of a tough task where we used an Analytical application in an innovative way to present all the required information in an interactive way.
  • Linked Dimensions: Create models coming from different connections like BW Queries, HANA, and Excel files and join them in a story by linked dimensions.
  • Linked Analysis: Filtering all the required charts using a single click for deep analysis using a single click.
  • Story 2.0: Will provide best integration with Stories, Applications, Broad rooms.
  • Add Mobile
  • Optimization at all levels of Applications and also with all types of pages
SAP Analytical Cloud is providing all the features that I can do reports in an interactive way along with Predictive analysis. The latest updates from SAP also helps to fulfill the market needs in reporting.
Yes
SAP Analytics Cloud is best integrated with backend BW4HANA or S/4 HANA or other systems which helps in boosting the reporting performance and will replace other products with limited integration capabilities.
Will consider Performance Analysis tool to re-evaluate .
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
We tried to implement in the development phases with all the broken integration steps we have and we slowly move to the Test and Production environment by considering the issues that arise during development implementation.
Change management was a major issue with the implementation
Change management helps us to record the issues in a timely manner and assign them to the right assignee group and priority can be marked for the fast phase and all the Transport requests, and comments are well documented with the approval flow to perform the Big SAC implementation.
  • System connectivity issues
  • Duration to complete the particular flow
  • Data Import issues
  • Transport issues
  • Authorization
  • Patch implementation
  • Compatibility
I was mostly involved in testing the models, stories, and recording the issues during implementation and in our case, most of the integration was successful.
The support from SAP Analytics Cloud is below average, as most of the solutions are in progress, from SAP notes or blogs and most of the time is wasted in creating the connections to look into the system via PID User.
I am not sure if the account is premium or not, but, generally, we contact support via ticket when issues arise.
Yes
The timelines depends on severity of the bug.
All the issues recorded to SAP are new to support since it is a developing product and it's common that the product behaves differently in different environments, so most of the support team answers are not instant.
  • Smart discovery
  • Story creation
  • Data sets
  • Model creation using live or acquired
  • Analytical Application
  • Planning
  • Forecasting with Time series
Yes
Mobile interface varies from Stories to Application and the interface is very limited. From the stories' point of view, the page needs to be created in Responsive for sure. From the applications, we can use it for Mobile devices, but Optimization of the Application doesn't work well with the Mobile Interface.

The only thing you need to understand is the basics of data analytics i.e. ETL, Data modelling and Data visualisation.
  • Predictive Analytics for Sales performance
  • Financial and Operations Planning
  • Financial Reporting
  • Online decision-making tool for the Board of Directors
  • Analysis of sales performance
  • High quiality and value reporting
  • Present live information directly from SAC to the Board of Directors
  • Allow users to develop their own reports without templates
  • Connect SAC to historic data via Excel spreadsheets.
Yes
We replace the use of MS Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
We are SAP S/4HANA customers and we believed that the best Analytics software to exploit all data stored in our ERP was SAC, due to the natural and seamless integration between boyh solutions.
I wouldn't change our selection process. We were focused on buying the best Analytics tool that could connect to our ERP effortlessly.
  • Third-party professional services
Datec LATAM (SAP local Partner)
Yes
The implementation followed the ACTIVATE Methodology, so it was divided in 4 stages: Preprare, Explore, Realize, Run. In Prepare we gathered the project team and delegated responsabilities. In Explore we designed how the solutions was going to work and interact with other systems. We design the reports focusing on the Business user's needs. In Realize the Partner configured the solution and than we tested the results, and than we wen up to the Run phase where we put the solution in production
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation
Training was the biggest issue. Business users where used to work with SAP S/4HANA anda the data collected by SAC was easy for them to use anda work with. Nontheless, many were used to download the ERP information to MS Excel spreadsheets to develop theri reports and were struggling to undestand and use the new solution. Perhaps it would've been better to integrate the Business Users early in the project for them to get to know the solutions better
  • Time management
  • Trainning
SAC is a simple solution ad it works fine when connecting it to other SAP tools. On the other hand, connecting it to third party solutions brings difficulties when there's no previous design and the objetives are not clear. It is really important to integrate Business users from the start to provide with valuable business insights
We didn't need to buy premium support because of the nature of the service it self. Being a Cloud solution, SAP provides full support to SAC with the standard suscription. It is also a very simple solution to manage and learn. There's plenty of free training resources: videos, documentation, manuals, etc .
No
There was no need for any exceptional support yet. The solutions works smoothly, and if there's any issue during its usage, it is mostly because of our data errors or lack of technical knowledge. The time we needed support from SAP, it was because of issues regarding connections to the platform. Those problems were rapidly resolved.

Yes
The mobile solution is very smooth to use. It provides you with the basic functions to navigate through Histories and Reports. It doesn't give you many tools to edit o work with reports and dashboards, but knowing that the main target are business users, those capabilities are not a 100% indispensable

With the mobile app, you can connect to your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant and view a list of stories created with responsive layout (that you have permissions to view). This includes stories based on both live and acquired data connections supported in the SAC Mobile app. You can sort the list of stories by Name and Last Changed date or apply predefined filters to the list like ‘Shared with Me’ or ‘Favorites’. If you know the name of the story you wish to view, you can also search for it using the search bar.
