It is not necessary to know everything before using SAP Crystal. People usually learn to use software's like this after using it multiple times by their own. If found any difficulty or not able to understand something , you can always take help from customer executive. They have provided email id to connect with them.

Ideally, the user(s) will have some basic database skills, whether it me in SQL Server, Microsoft Access, or similar. As well, some basic formula knowledge is helpful when creating customized formulas from within Crystal Reports. Finally, some knowledge of our business's typical Operations and workflows are critical when deciding what fields to include in a Crystal report, and how to best format and present the data,

The type of person need to support SAP crystal is someone who understands how to install software. This seems like a simple function, but this person would have to make sure that the necessary product keys are in place, and that all users have the correct version. This person would also have a broad knowledge of Crystal, which would allow them to assist with any scripting issues or fatal errors.

Since the two people that use Crystal are power users, when they have issues, there is no one else on staff for them to turn to. In these cases, we have a 3rd party partner that assists us with our SAP Business Objects/Crystal needs. They are generally used as an on-demand resource, though some project based engagements occur as well.

We have a team of 2 in the Information Technology Department but with our support contract we can get assistance with customizing reports when we get either to busy to figure out how on our own or call for assistance from our software support contract. Once however the report is configured there is not much on going support needed.

Crystal can largely be used without any knowledge of its code, which is SQL-ish. That said though, you can't be intimidated by code, and I find it much easier to manipulate functions using the code, rather than searching through the menus for everything you might need. It does take specific knowledge beyond just SQL/reporting though, since the menus aren't particularly intuitive, and there's no way to use it as 100% code.

We're too small for in-house 'support' of Crystal reports. We have an outside IT company that handles any issues. Creating reports, etc. are usually able to be handled by current staff. Wouldn't honestly say the most user-friendly or intuitive for a typical user in our company, but we are able to make it work and it provides us with data needed in most instances without outside help. The tech company does handle setting up more complicated reports/layouts.

Crystal Reports is a very powerful, productive, and novice friendly reporting tool. I have been teaching this application for over 10 years and I have seen students successfully utilize Crystal Reports from all sorts of backgrounds including, but not limited to: Help Desk, IT Support, IT, Accounting, General Staff, Administrator Levels I, II, III etc. Cashier at a grocery store to Senior Developer, it can be accomplished with formal training.
Crystal Reports can be successfully utilized by just about anyone regardless of background at an Beginner/Intermediate level. Advanced functionality i.e. (Sub-reports, cross-tab, SQL statements, and variables)do require training and application, but over 90% of my students are able regardless of background or education.

It is the same group as the prior question, reporting professionals. The main skill that you need for our department is SQL skills, because to make crystal fast, you want to make it dumb! By that, I mean you put all your hard calculations into your datalayer or a stored procedure, and have that return to Crystal rather than making Crystal try to figure out complex situations. Crystal can do it, but it's faster (by a lot) if you do it for crystal, and just let Crystal be a print engine.

Surely to approach the use of crystal report is advisable to have the basics of developing, not necessarily high-level but the important thing is to have a minimum of knowledge regarding the use of basic functions.
It is also advisable to make SAP training courses to understand in depth the logic of Crystal report and its different grouping sections, etc.

Our BI team is very small. Because of this size, we tend to develop reports that meet specific needs and are intuitive. This reduces that amount of support that is needed. Some of the reports a complex with many parameters, others a design to provide a snapshot of the current business. As you can imagine, the snapshot report tend to require less support.
