SAP DataSphere provides significant contributions to companies in the field of data management and analytics. With the advantages it offers in data integration, quality, security and accessibility, it allows business processes to become more efficient and strategic decisions to be taken based on information. As a result, SAP DataSphere stands out as a strong supporter in companies' digital transformation journey.
  • user friendly
  • Comprehensive Integration
  • Real Time Data Stream
  • data transfer to external systems
It makes transferring data from sources much easier. However, I think it is weak in transferring data to other sources.

SAP Datasphere is the hub for all of our data. We are connected to various source systems and store the data into datasphere. We have a very decentralized business, so the goal of implementing datasphere was to centralize to a single source of truth.
  • Connectivity
  • Data modeling
  • Security
  • AI
  • More SQL functionality available in low-code solution
  • Data persistence
Decentralized companies would be benefit from implementation datasphere to centralize into a single source of truth

We are trying to leverage SAP Datasphere for our ETL process, we did not have any dedicated ETL tool in our organization till now. We use Qlik currently, we are trying to be SAP centric and leverage Datasphere capabilities and seamlessly connect with SAP Analytics cloud. With Datasphere we can reuse the Analytics models in multiple SAC stories, which was not possible in Qlik. (we use/used Qlik for extraction and visualization)
  • Dimensional modeling
  • Graphical view
  • Improvements in SLT
SAP Datasphere best suited us with the reusability of the views and models. Data flows came in very handy to be used. Python scripting in dataflows is a plus point where we sometimes use python functions to modify our data which SAP Datasphere is not able to. The Row level security is the area we are still trying to explore and make sure how we can leverage.

We use Datasphere as our Enterprise Warehouse. The native connections to S4HANA, ECC, and SuccessFactors helped us rapidly get there. Our scope is to build a Data Fabric with all our sources to consume, mainly from SAC. We have seen continuous improvement in the product since we started two years ago.
  • Native connectivity.
  • Data Federation.
  • Flexible modeling.
  • More ETL capabilities in Data Flow.
Faster turnaround time in building data fabric with good federation and replication possibilities. Data flows need improvement with conditional loading, error handling, etc.

Now we are using this tool for our sales department. We have the reporting tool Tableu. And we cannot integrate Tableau and our SAP ECC. Because of that, we implemented SAP Datasphere solution to integrate all data.
  • A lot of integration point
  • Increase size
  • Easy to implement
  • Connecting with SAP Datasphere is not easy
  • Network issues
We can integrate SAP ECC and Oracle. We combined data easily. Also, we would like to implement all plants.

We sell it to customers and implement it.
  • User Friendly
  • Easy Data Integration
  • Connection to SAP is seamless
  • BW migrations via BW Bridge seems to be convoluted and not straight forward
  • Need a certification program
  • More capabilities similar to BW4HANA
Less appropriate for existing BW customers. Greenfield it is far easier to convince customers. SAP Datasphere with HANA cloud is extremely expensive.

We implement SAP Datasphere (DSP) at our clients to be used as the datawarehouse of choice. On top we use SAP Analytics Cloud to build front end reporting. In DSP both SAP and non SAP (Excel /...) sources are combined, transformed, used to create calculations and business logic uppon. DSP is in that case the sole source of truth for our reporitng.
  • Data integration
  • Data exposure to sac
  • Complex calculations
  • Embed non SAP data
Creating a new datawarehous eplatform for a recently transformed client to S/4HANA. This by replacing the current setups of for example SAP BW.

Productive usage to distribute all relevant SAP BI Data to our customer. For e.g. Qlik Sense and Google BigQuery.
Actual problem, is the integeration in nonSAP tools. The consumtption for openSQL Connection is not that smart as for SAP Analytics Cloud. We want an bi-directional functionality for all interfaces. Neither its an SAP Product or not.
  • development speed
  • performance
  • connection to BW
  • sql modelling
  • integration in non SAP tools
  • differentiation between BW and DS
- suitebale for not to complex data models
- suitable for data integration
- strong space concept
- not suitable for ai
- not suitable for complex datamodells

we use Datasphere to produce sales reporting among multiple instances of SAP to have one source of truth
  • sales reporting combining SAP tables
  • SAP and non-SAP environment integration
  • integration among multiple SAP instances
  • connection to 3rd party can be easier (tableau instead of SAP)
  • ecc and S/4HANA integration at the same time should be easier
i am a user and consultant of SAP BW for many years so Datasphere is now amazing when you compare

We used SAP Datasphere to integrate data from various sources as we had on-premises data servers, cloud applications and IoT devices. This tool allowed us to present the data to non-technical people blatantly and improve the business processes, make better decisions and identify the lacking features in our current application. Overall, SAP Datasphere is a versatile and powerful tool that can help organizations to get more value from their data.
  • semantic modeling
  • data cataloging
  • data virtualization
  • built-in machine learning engine
  • ease of use
  • integration with other products
We have been working on ecommerce company and we have several data servers and point-of-sale systems. We wanted to collect and integrate all this data to create a unified view of its customers, orders and inventory. And we also desired to use this data to power its BI dashboards and reports. Additionally, we wanted to predict the futuristic demand for the goods. Hence, we utilized SAP Datasphere for data catalogue and data governance policies; and created semantic models of the data, then we created the Power BI dashboards and reports to share the insight of data.

SAP data sphere played an import role in data unification in cases where data from multiple sources is to be ingested into single platform for processing. Theoretically it can support data ingestion from both SAP and non-SAP data sources. It can even access data from foreign sources. SAP has good team of professionals to help you with onboarding and support requirements.
  • Service & Support for onboarding
  • integration with the existing BI platform
  • automating complicated, repetitive laborious manual procedures
  • Lack of documentation availability
  • No Mobile application
  • Cost/ Pricing
One of the best use cases for SAP data sphere is ecommerce and retail business where a lot of locations are constantly generating a lot of data and we need to make important business decisions based on that data. SAP data sphere can help wit integrating multiple data sources and help with analytics, data processing, modeling and making business predictions.

We use SAP as the inventory, and pricing database for all products globally at out company. I personally use it for web pricing and inventory, however the retail team can also separate things by retail, and warehouse. So we can have separate pricing for retail stores and web store.
  • Price adjustments
  • inventory allocation
  • sales reports
  • ease of use
  • could use a refreshed UX experience
  • data doesn't always flow back to SAP as we would want it to from salesforce
SAP is best suited for large global corporations. It is a very complex software and is difficult to come by individuals who have sufficient enough knowledge to master the product. Globally our company only has 1 person to support us in IT for SAP. It is great if you use a more complex web host such as SFCC as you can make connections to SAP for returns, inventory, price updates, etc.

Over the years, SAP software has been used by our team to address data routine. Specifically, we use SAP Datasphere to integrate data from diverse sources both on-premise and in the cloud. The software assists with cataloging structured and unstructured data assets, which is profoundly useful in saving time as the team is easily all caught-up on their available data.
  • Integrates data from diverse sources; both on-premises or in the cloud
  • Catalog both structured and unstructured data assets.
  • Assess and improve data quality
  • Provides tools for tracking data chain
  • Improve the User Interface to make the software more intuitive.
  • Improve the integration process with other products to boost overall value
  • Increase their documentation and user guide
SAP Datasphere is well suited for various situations and use cases across different establishments. However, they are particularly fitted in large enterprises with multitude and complex data routines as the software solution allows integration from variety of sources. It is also a go-to for operations that extract and load (ETL) data from multiple systems.

SAP helps me integrate, visualize and process data effectively and efficiently. Data retrieval and analysis using SAP is much easier and more robust comparatively. Also, it is easy to connect and join data at elsewhere and integrate them and/or remove the redundancies more smoothly. The cloud linkage and workflow are the best suite.
  • Data from numerous sources, both locally and on the cloud, is simple to integrate.
  • Simplified and detailed data visualization tools.
  • simple and rapid development
  • Integrate previously existing data models.
  • High cost and maintainence
  • There are no free services available, no free demo application use cases which makes the user not have an overview how efficient it is.
  • Virtual servers are sometimes laggy and slow..
SAP is quite good at combining data from several sources. It has the ability to connect to a range of databases, cloud services, and on-premises systems. Before transferring data to other systems for analytics or reporting, we can utilize it to transform and clean the data.
SAP Datasphere is good for large volumes of data; small datasets get the stuff overcomplicated.

Previously, we were using Google Analytics on all our sites to visualize user analytics, behaviors, etc. But recently, we made the switch to SAP Datasphere, which is also a SaaS. As our organization was already using SAP BTP, we were able to make the switch to SAP Datasphere conveniently, which helped us in Data Discovery and distribution. This was particularly needed in our organization as we have a vast number of data-oriented platforms and have a huge number of clients using those. Hence, we started using SAP Datasphere for tracking, managing, and modeling those data across all our platforms.
  • Catalogs data across all our platforms into a single and centralised hub.
  • Data Discovery, Data Governance and of course real time visualisation of data.
  • Includes access controlled mechanism to monitor data reading privileges.
  • Need to have a good understanding of the SAP ecosystem to implement and use it.
  • From a cost perspective it can be little bit on the expensive side for enterprises.
  • The platform is still new and hence more subjected to bugs. But support for it is always good from the SAP team.
The sites and platforms that we implemented already were using SAP BTP and SAP Ariba, and hence were well suited and habituated to the SAP ecosystem. Hence making the switch to SAP Datasphere along with SAP Cloud Analytics wasn't that difficult for our team and organisation. Just our team has more than 200 sites contained in 6 different platforms. Tracking, modeling, and analyzing data across all these different platforms was very cumbersome for us sometimes. But SAP Datasphere, with its Data Discovery, was able to centralize all those data which we were easily able to model and analyze.

We now have all of our data catalogued and unified with SAP Datasphere. We are using it to create new visuals for our data reports and delviering bettern analysis in general. Some of our researchers can be really granular but the ecosystem adjusts to it well.
  • Visualisation
  • Data cataloguing
  • Integrated services
  • Not intuitive to set up
  • Not for novice users
  • Not enough of visual choices
  • Data not always verified properly
It is not built for super complex tasks but for the daily operations it is perfect. Data intergrity checks would definitely need some attention as we've been having difficulties with them. Current visuals are enough but there always can be more. Not every user in my team was able to jump on the tool without a proper walkthrough.

It is a new Data management tool from SAP with tight integration with SAP BTP. The positioning is little confusing since not sure whether it replaces SAP BW, or any other CDP platform. It is a combination of individual components like SAP analytics cloud and help in all processes of data in the organization
  • Data visualization on SAC
  • Keeping the core clean using SAP BTP
  • API support
  • Nothing as such. Tool needs maturity
It is suited if you have entire ecosystem of SAP products and need one robust platform to manage all your data and analytics needs

I use SAP Datasphere on a daily basis at workplace. I am able to relish a lit of issues with the help of this program. It is seamless, rapid and accurate to model, prepare and visualize data across varied sources.
  • SAP Datasphere allows me to make informed decisions by automating data modeling, preparation and visualization.
  • Furthermore, SAP Datasphere offered prebuilt content and pre-integrated services like datalake and databases.
  • It simplify data landscape through business data fabric.
  • It offered a free trial.
  • Too bad, SAP vendor does offer free trial but seldom do they offer freemium version.
  • Unavailability of mobile application and deficiency in documentation for features.

With SAP Datasphere, I am able to reduce manual data modeling, integration and visualization procedures through automation.
  • Accelerated implementation by offering built-in services such as data lake and databases.
  • Unify data across multi-cloud and on-premise sources.
  • SAP Datasphere is allocates at a fair cost estimation compared to alternatives such as Amazon Redshift.
  • Accelerate time to value by reusing semantical definitions automatically.
  • Unfortunately, there’s no mobile application for SAP Datasphere.
  • The vendor offers free trial, but doesn’t offer freemium version.
