What is SAP Extended Warehouse Management?
A warehouse management system (WMS) that enables users to manage a high volume of goods and run sustainable, risk-resilient operations with digitalized warehouse processes in the cloud. Presented as an advanced and comprehensive warehouse solution with fully integrated quality, production, and track-and-trace processes, offering direct control of warehouse automation equipment and intelligent slotting rules to optimize space utilization.
SAP Extended Warehouse Management (or SAP EWM) gives users full transparency into an organization's logistical execution status, from monitoring deliveries to be planned by transportation, through truck movements, and detailed pick, packing, staging and loading activities. And, with SAP Dock Appointment Scheduling, warehouse managers can plan and adjust the daily balance of vehicle loading and unloading by giving carriers direct access to the system for appointment scheduling.
SAP EWM is available standalone, or as an add-on with additional components to SAP Supply Chain Management.
SAP EWM is used to :
- Control movements in the warehouse (from point-of-goods receipt to goods issue) and in the yard (from the time a trailer checks in until a product is packed and shipped).
- Optimize wave and replenishment processing.
- Leverage storage bin management on handling units, slotting functions, and physical inventory.
- Improve distribution center processes around planning and monitoring, radio frequency support, serial number utilization, resource management, and labor management.
- Manage and control a material flow system.
SAP EWM is available standalone, or as an add-on with additional components to SAP Supply Chain Management.
