Pros
StrongMail does open and click tracking very well. The detailed level of data they provide is exceptional.
StrongMail does failure data and bounce codes extremely well. The granularity of the information is invaluable to our business and used by us every day.
StrongMail's Message Studio EAS is a widely user friendly platform for technical and non-technical users alike.
Cons
Some level of the sending functionality for StrongMail is lacking. For example you can not do user record level targeting on the native communication protocols but if you inject via SMTP you can target down to the individual user record. However using SMTP you lose a lot of other native functionality.
The bounce processing that we see from StrongMail does not have the flexibility we require and thus we manually mine the log files each night for the previous day to acquire the data we need.
Return on Investment
Due to the granularity of data and real-time nature of it that you can get from StrongMail we are able to respond to ISPs reactions in quasi real-time. It absolutely helps us and our customers. [Positive]
The lack of record level user targeting on send required us to hire StrongMail's professional services in order to get the features we need. [Negative]
