Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Senior Systems provides our school management and school information systems. It is used across the organization and provides an [uniform] platform for communication and management of the school's processes from payments to posting grades and discipline. The software has been highly customized for our academy's needs, and we have been using it for approximately 20 years.
Pros and Cons
  • A broad-based, unified platform that can be used in many areas across campus.
  • Robust database that is very customizable.
  • A web-based platform that can be used on any device.
Likelihood to Recommend
Senior Systems school software is great for small schools looking for a software package that can be implemented across many departments in the school at a reasonable price. Senior Systems does offer on boarding and training to help learn the system but continuing training is difficult though also necessary. Senior's admissions software modules leave much to be desired though they have purchased Ravenna which offers a top-of-the-line option that blends very well with Senior.

  • Able to be used across the campus in many areas - from enrollment and grades to school store management.
  • We have a long-term partnership with Senior and they have helped us build a robust system that is very tailored to our needs.
  • Having everything available in one system is extremely convenient.

  • [The] convenience of having to manage only one system and database.
  • Senior is long overdue for an update and refresh to make it look modern and to make it more easy and intuitive to use.
Alternatives Considered
On the admissions front, SchoolAdmin beats the Senior Admissions module hands down for ease of use, performance, customer service, and reliability. We have had no downtime issues with Senior but regularly experienced downtime issues with Senior. School Admin is also very intuitive and easy to learn and use. Senior has a much steeper learning curve.
