Categories & Use Cases

Flywire is an easy to use option for international wire transfers / payments

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At the educational institution in which I work, students (in particular, international students) use our wiring payment option (Flywire) to make payment for the tuition of their classes. So far the use of this payment option has been smooth; however, there seems to be a delay in the data that gets reported to us (a few days, maybe) after a wire transfer has been made. So, if a student has an upcoming payment deadline to pay for classes, that student sometimes is notified by our school that he/she still hasn't paid in a timely manner and may get dropped from their classes due to non-payment, but the student may insist that payment was in fact made. Also, if an amount is paid for that is larger than the outstanding balance, the overpaid amount gets wired back to the source from which it came; however, sometimes the student has that done intentionally in order to have some monetary credit in their account balance with our school.

Pros

  • It accepts a wire transfer from virtually all nations outside the U.S.
  • The customer service support is helpful.
  • Once payment information in our system is updated, it allows for payment for classes from overseas to run smoothly.

Cons

  • Delay time could be shortened between the actual time of payment and the confirmation of payment.
  • It could allow for the payer to pay more than the outstanding balance without rejecting additional amounts of money.
  • Refund information by way of Flywire is a little vague.

Most Important Features

  • International payment options
  • Customer support
  • Confirmation of payment for both the organization and for the student / payer

Return on Investment

  • Cannot think of any negative impact
  • A good number of students are using Flywire to pay for their classes, so it is growing in popularity
  • It reduces the amount of foot traffic at the cashier / payment office when it comes to issues involving payment of classes.

Electronic and Secure

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used by many (though not all) hotels to securely and electronically obtain credit card authorizations and ensure the validity of those cards while also protecting the data as it is very sensitive in nature.

Pros

  • Provides an easy way to send credit card authorizations and receive them without the need for faxing or signatures on real paper.
  • Ensures the credit or debit card matches the name and address of the person to which it is issued.
  • Tracks digital footprint of the submission of the credit card authorization.

Cons

  • Still needs improvement in setting permissions for who in the organization can see full credit card numbers.
  • Could use additional backup material for disputes with credit card companies.

Return on Investment

  • It saves money on credit card disputes by dramatically cutting down on the number of disputes.
  • It saves significant time in receiving and sending authorizations.
  • It saves money in storing hard copies of authorizations which must be kept secure at all times.

Good tool for solving a basic problem.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used it for deals where payments were not made at time of sale. It was most helpful with Government agencies, schools, etc.. or larger businesses where getting payment was a slow process on the customer's end, but they had enough approval to move forward with signing off on a deal.

Pros

  • Simple solution to a relatively simple problem, the best kind of tool.
  • Quick implementation.
  • Low Cost

Cons

  • Didn't have a big enough use case to really come up against Sertifi's limits.. it did everything we needed it to do.

Return on Investment

  • Able to more quickly close deals, spend less time on sales reps hounding people to pay.

Certified for Sertifi

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Sertifi is being used for the client base, the people who are actually submitting applications for grants in the non-profit world. We use it a little different in that when an application gets filled out, we use Sertifi within the Salesforce environment to create a document automatically, but send the actual document out (the LOI) ten days after submission (in case we need to change what was submitted). The Sertifi doc goes out for signature at this time and then upon return we have it attached to the organization account in Salesforce. Sertifi helps keep the needed documentation prior to any money being exchanged between organizations; it's a great tool.

Pros

  • Document generation - it's extremely simple to integrate the data needed from our platform onto a document efficiently.
  • Sytem integration - having the ability to integrate to our Salesforce.com platform was a selling point, in that the open API enables us to keep documents tied to specific clients.
  • Email template ability - not only great for document generation, it is also great in its capability for sending and customizing the email templates along side it.

Cons

  • Customizable integration - Although Sertifi has a very simple integration process for Salesforce.com, it required us to work closely with a Serifi developer to fully customize the process the way we needed (ex. creating the document without fully sending it immediately)

Return on Investment

  • Great feedback from end clients - prior to Sertifi, we were manually creating PDFs and documents as well as mailing them for signature. This new process has increased our return time incredibly!
  • Prior to Salesforce, potential recipients were sending emails in as requests that were being tracked in an Excel spreadsheet. Now we have the process automated where they can submit everything online, a document get auto-generated and auto-sent out 10 days later. We've saved SO much time because of this newfound efficiency!

Sertifi is the way to go!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Currently, there are multiple departments within our Organization that use Sertifi. I personally have been using it for about 5-6 years and love it! Sertifi helps our organization send agreements to customers for our software and for statement of work agreements. By using Sertifi, it allows for secure payments and easy transactions. We receive an email when the customer signs, and it's seamless!

Pros

  • Online payment capture is huge! And it's secured.
  • Contracts get signed extremely fast using Sertifi.
  • You receive an email notification once the customer signs, to know the transaction is complete.
  • You also receive a notification when the customer 'views' the agreement.

Cons

  • More fields where we can copy more clients on a quote.

Return on Investment

  • Quicker turnaround of contracts.
  • Secured payment which makes our clients feel safe.
