BrowserStack is a test platform built for developers and QAs to expand test coverage, scale and optimize testing with cross-browser, real device cloud, accessibility, visual testing, test management, and test observability. BrowserStack states it currently powers over a billion tests a year for customers who include Amazon, Paypal, Well Fargo Bank, Nvidia, MongoDB, Pfizer, GE, Discovery, React JS, Apache, JQuery and several others rely on BrowserStack to test their web and mobile apps.

As opposed to manual testing tools, Automation Test Tools produce test cases that can be applied to web pages & apps that are triggered, executed, evaluted (often a regression test), and logged by scripts. Test automations can be applied to usability / UI testing (e.g. by simulating a user), load or performance testing, functional tests, or cross-browser compatibility tests as desired. Automation Test Tools vary by what languages they can be built in (or if they have a visual test designer that allows building tests without code, but rather with a graphical model), and what they test, with particular tools specializing in a particular kind of test (e.g. browser compatibility).
