We use it for content migration between SP farms and reporting. Also used for larger SP 2013 to SP online migration. Also a great tool for running SharePoint administration tasks i.e., checking user's access on SP farm level, or creating permission matrix reports. Also, creating queries based on custom requirements. ShareGate is a very versatile, valuable tool.
  • Reporting
  • Content migration
  • Job Logs
  • Error messaging unclear
  • Preserving list item IDs difficult
  • Migrating content types and site columns is difficult with same name
  • Licensing should be less restrictive
Large SP13 to SP online migration with several custom apps and web parts. ShareGate could migrate 1Gb data in about 2hrs which is pretty good. Relatively error-free operation and great logs. Easy to work with ShareGate due to its simple interface. Great reporting tool and query tool as well.

Simplest tool out of all and more affordable. Better support and documentation. More users and great prompt support. Prior to starting a new task time estimate should be provided. The license system is more manageable however should be available for more or less users rather than only 5. Also, activity or audit logs should be importable to Excel.

Sharegate is used to manage multiple environments both in the cloud and on prem. The reporting makes it simple. The pre-scheduling of migrations is a huge Time Saver. It makes managing multiple environments very easy. My entire team loves it. Their support is top-notch.

If you're doing any kind of migration between environments share gate should be your go to Tool it makes planning scheduling testing and running migrations from on-premise to the cloud a breeze.

  • Share gate has saved my colleagues and I hundreds of hours of migration headaches
  • Share Gates reporting tools as an administrator make my job very very simple.
  • The ROI could be measured alone in man hours saved migrating environments. That alone has probably paid for the licensing cost
Sharegate has the feature set at the price point we needed

We currently use ShareGate for a number of purposes. The main purpose is migrating SharePoint site collections and content between our environments and within an environment. We also use ShareGate to run permissions matrix reports. We are currently exploring Apricot functions for our Teams purposes, however not at this time do we use this in production. ShareGate Desktop is the tool we use currently. We also love the different reporting features available for site collections. Lastly, we use ShareGate to remove orpaned users each month
  • Site Collection and content migration
  • Permissions Reporting
  • Content searching
  • Auditing -connect with MS purview
  • Better reports export for permissions matrix
  • Better user mapping (poll source and destination sites and try to auto map)
Migrations from one 365 tenant to another are so easy with Sharegate that there is little work to prepare and post-check. This tool is very user friendly and if you understand SharePoint you can understand Sharegate. One other feature I like about Sharegate is that you can migrate parts of SharePoint and not just the whole thing!
  • Site migration
  • Permissions matrix reports
  • Reports generation for custom needs
  • Time saved on migrations
  • Improved security of SP sites with permissions reports
  • Version clean up with Sharegate clean up process
Sharegate is superior in most ways except teams sites migration to GCC high tenant. It’s not possible with Sharegate but abitTitan can somewhat migrate teams to GCC high tenants. I wish MS would make available the Graph for GCC so we can utilize Sharegate Team migration tools! We love the other Teams admin tools available!

ShareGate just works and works very well. As trusted consultants, speed and reliability are especially important to our clients that want to run time-sensitive, big-bang migrations on a weekend and have employees return to an upgraded environment that just works. When we do migrations, the ability to seed the content first, then schedule a delta migration for the production push is great.
  • Scheduled migrations
  • Migration speed
  • Handles O365 throttling
  • Incremental migrations
  • High level migration based on modified\created date.
  • Support via phone.
  • Content comparison reports.
Good for migrating SharePoint, Teams, and network storage to SharePoint and OneDrive locations.
  • Fast content migration.
  • Accurate content migration.
  • Good error reporting.
  • Saves time migrating content.
  • Ability to schedule daily incremental migrations for a faster go-live.
Cost prohibitive since it's based on size migrated and rather expensive. However, the feature-set is VERY good and has some things ShareGate doesn't.
