Shopify is a much easier and more intuitive platform to use.

The mobile focus is outstanding from the other competitors and the capability to modify the store without previous code or experience makes them the best e-commerce platform.

The cost for the Plus is just a pain because it's too high, unless you are a multi-store with a presence in multiple countries I would not suggest escalating the basic Shopify store

Netsuite SuiteCommerce, which has a very high cost of ownership, and Magento, which although powerful can be expensive and is too complex for the average eComm requirements. Too flexible can be bad in some cases.

Shopify Plus is better supported, more powerful, and has much more ability for customization. Shopify as a platform is also much more stable than others and offers excellent customer support. New features are constantly being rolled out and it has a very large community.

Shopify Plus is an all in one service. You are able to keep track of invoices and payments. Shopify Plus also offers options for shipping and connects your tracking number to you order which allows for easy tracking. Your tracking number is also a link which makes it even easier.

Shopify had the quickest go-to-market and most robust API among the products we compared. CommerceCloud required a VERY LONG integration phase that we just didn't have time for. BigCommerce fell short on the number of features and API coverage that we needed. Overall Shopify gave us the most bang for the buck.

Shopify Plus offers a more robust solution than Woo commerce and is easier to train on than Big Commerce. Woo commerce is freeware with no support. Big Commerce offers more SEO features and is a more powerful solution, but harder to remote train users on - lots more buttons/features to manage.

Shopify Plus is WAYYYYYY better than anything else that we have used, and it's not even close. The websites are faster and more reliable, both of which are critical to running an online business. The cost to run is way less. We are running five websites on Shopify Plus for less cost than running 1 through Magento and 2 through BigCommerce. The B2B application allows us to manage our wholesale customers without needing a separate website. With the app store, there are so many free options to improve our website and add additional features at the click of a button. Magento and BigCommerce have apps as well, but they never seemed to integrate as well as they do with Shopify Plus. Overall, the cost savings alone made the switch a no-brainer for us, but the performance improvement was worth the change too!

I selected Shopify Plus because the clients found it easy to use to manage their website, whenever they needed an update of their website. Shopify Plus is great when it comes to e-commerce websites and should only be used for e-commerce.

Shopify Olus is more of a SAAS than the self-managed Magento solution. With this comes a host of benefits such as hosting, security, updates, and new technology that you no longer have to worry about. Specifically, with Shopify Plus, scripts can be very powerful and when combined with other apps or development solutions can really streamline aspects of your business such as promotions. For a website who runs lots of sales/bogos/other promotions this can be very powerful. The downside to Shopify is that the customization is limited. However, it can be customized enough for most eCommerce stores and if you are tech savvy enough, you may never need to engage a developer again. For enterprise level companies with a development team, Magento may still be the correct solution, but for most SMB's Shopify or Shopify Plus checks all of the boxes without the headaches and allows you to focus on the important parts of your business while staying current (or ahead of the game) with available technology.

Big Cartel, Magento, Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, etc are all decent solutions for eCommerce, but none of them features the easy setup, ease of use, simple streamlined dashboard/interface, and customer website experience that Shopify Plus has. Shopify (non plus) alone is a great solution, but Shopify Plus gives you the professional tools needed to make sure that your eCommerce Store is available at all times so that you can focus on driving traffic to your site and converting the traffic into sales.

It doesn't. Shopify has some great features and add-ons. I particularly like the ability for customers to check out quickly with a text authenticator, the theme options, ability to customize the look and feel, and video integration but this is all surface matter. At its core, Shopify will only work well and be cost effective if you offer low inventory and very simple variants.

While Squarespace has a more sophisticated site theme and template offering, the inventory management, and drop shipping options (while still not perfect, or ideal) makes Shopify Plus the right choice for powering e-commerce businesses.

Shopify Plus is way ahead of the pack in terms of features, automated and worry free maintenance / security / scaling / infrastructure, customer support, and speed. We've been building eCommerce sites for over a decade and it seems almost every positive trend in eCommerce is set by Shopify. They also attract the best talent in the industry.

Shopify is a solid foundation for an eCommerce company and I'm confident it will be the market leader for a long time to come.

Shopify is definitely more intuitive and easier to get running than Magento. Think of it as Shopify being built for the user and Magento being built for the developer. Overall, they both have similar capacities but I would choose Shopify every time over Magento. Brightpearl has no eCommerce built in functionality but we used to use it similarly to how we use Shopify and FarApp and we run into the same issues (although the product sync is a built more stable on the FarApp side).

Squarespace is a platform meant for creating websites/blogs that also has an eCommerce component layered on top. Conversely, Shopify Plus was build from day one with eCommerce in mind. This is evident throughout the experience, especially with regards to order management, and bulk product imports.

Shopify Plus integrates so well with other services, and keeps all levels of the online shopping experience in one place. It really saves a developer or manager a lot of headache that can arise with other e-commerce platforms.
