ShowMyPC is my company's go to resource for remote access for clients that opt out of the paid services like TeamViewer and LogMeIn. The platform is secure and stable and it affords a relatively easy way for me to gain remote access to a client's device. It also allows the client to control the access rather than always on which fits the security requirements f certain industries like lawyers and doctors.

  • Free level should have automatic reconnect on reboot
  • Being a remote access only software pricing plans could be better
  • Branding should be allowed on lower plans
If you need unattended remote access, you will need one of the paid plans, so for a quick always on remote support option, [ShowMyPC] may not be the best suited. If security is an issue and your client's compliance rules won't allow always on remote access, then ShowMyPC is probably the best on-[the]-fly remote access on the market. On demand access is always free and can be done via browser or via a very small client download.

  • The on-demand access is free - can't get a better ROI than that
  • Plans are relatively inexpensive - as long as you are not managing large amounts of devices
  • Having a go to remote access solution that enables clients to control access is priceless
From a strictly remote access perspective, the experience is virtually the same between the big three remote access solutions - ShowMyPc - LogMeIn - TeamViewer. They all offer similar connection experiences. ShowMyPC has the best browser based experience - very smooth and seamless. LogMeIn's is lacking and the experience feels sluggish. TeamViewer does not offer this to my knowledge. ShowMyPC wins with the free on-demand access because it is handled via the browser. [TeamViewer] offers free - but only via a downloaded client. LogMeIn does not offer anything for free here.

ShowMyPC is being used by the Support Services department of my organization. It is used to provide remote support and assistance in configuration management and software support services of the organization. Since the software is financial software and suites, it was crucial to have a support product with proactive support such as ShowMyPC where chat support is quick during business hours.

  • No support for Mac
  • Software produces lags at times, not the smoothest
  • No integration with CSP's for file transfer
The primary use case is to assist an IT team working on computers across offices, or at times a server handled by another department. If it is offsite work and we need quick access. It also helps in getting access of BYOD devices of all employees and its file sharing feature is one of the most used in a few departments although support for integration with cloud service providers is a sore point.

  • It allowed us to provide support even in remote locations
  • Its website support is very useful as it has allowed us to gain instant access without need of software installation
  • Remote Desktop Connection freezes at times and might require more testing and upgrading
ShowMyPC lags behind its competition when it comes to usability and smoothness in operations, its UI on the web is complicated and seems out of place. The high point of this product is its customer service provided through chat support for any issues which is instant. The product also lacks integration with rd party CSPs for file sharing and it does not have a MAC client which works against it.
