We use Sigma Computing as a replacement for Sisense Periscope to bring dashboards to users. We decided to use Sigma Computing because of its good capabilities for self service on a sheet-like UI. The ability to easily see the underlying data was a decision point for us. We are still migrating from our previous tool, but things are good so far.
  • Self service
  • Performance
  • Sheet (Google, Excel) environment
  • User interface for creating dashboards
  • Charts availability--they should add several more
  • Flexibility on adding components
  • Python and R integration
The product is great, and we are happy with them. Seeing the data like you are on a Google Sheet is awesome. The ability to see the underlying data is really good as well. Performance is a key point. Still, it has a lot of room for improvement. The user interface for creating a dashboard lacks flexibility. The number of available charts is pretty basic. I think it's a matter of time so they can keep improving the product.

  • Improved self service
  • Saved time on creating visualizations
  • Flexibility on creating dashboards is not good
  • Versioning dashboard is not good enough
  • Ability to create a good development process for dashboards is not good enough
  • It lacks of GIT integration
Definitely, the ability to see the underlying data and easily dig into that has made a great improvement for our business users. All the dashboards created were well received, and they are used a lot on daily basis. We are happy with Sigma Computing, and we look forward to getting some improvements on the tool to keep moving in the right direction.
Sigma Computing's ability to dig into the data is good for us regarding ad-hoc and self-service enablement. The ability to see the underlying data is one of the best features Sigma Computing provides. When you look at the data, and you can keep filtering, aggregating, and modifying your data, it helps a lot in making decisions because you don't need to way for ENGs to make changes to the data or the visualizations they created for you.
Sigma is better for us than our previous tools. Still, we are expecting more from them.
  • Data navigation
  • Underlying data
  • Sheet like interface
  • User Interface to create dashboards
  • Code versioning is not posible
  • Follow users usage is not good enough
  • Global Inventory documents is not good
  • Development process needs more refinement
Yes, but I don't use it
Once you have created your dashboard, the user interface is pretty good. But, when you're creating a dashboard the tool needs more improvement and to add flexibility for developers and users
