Implementing real-time dashboards was a challenge for us before. SingleStore has made it very easy to implement real-time dashboards and deal with data that changes very frequently.

SingleStore is the fastest database ever tested by us
We have increased our license size over time and have increased our cluster both through vertical as well as horizontal scaling. When we know there is going to be peak traffic, we have also increased sizes proactively just for a couple of days. Because more CPUs usually result in higher concurrency, SingleStore can easily scale by just adding more CPUs to the cluster.

MemSQL is Great for Use Cases where Performance (Latency and Data Freshness) Needs are High
Not much comment here: MemSQL can scale horizontally effectively, but with more of an in-memory model it is more expensive, so again I'd recommend scaling it for high performance (both latency and data freshness) cases.

SingleStore provides for customer-facing internal users but fails for production usage
We didn't scale up/down, we did have a case of a very simple query on top of a small dataset which didn't perform well because there were too many nodes and we had to create another smaller cluster for it to perform well.

SingleStore computing data at scale
Scaling wasn't easy in MemSQL. It improved recently. We are mainly using it to bring in more and more data without affecting performance.

Hosted SingleStore got us to market fast
The performance of SingleStore enables us to hit our SLAs for our customers in terms of reporting performance. Our old reporting platform would take minutes to return large reports whereas SingleStore can complete the reports in a matter of seconds.

Great product
If I will be honest, I am not familiar with MemSQL hardware but most of our features approved by our DBA team. Which means that memSQL provides an easily scalable DB.

Scale the DB without scaling your engineers
Yes. One of our PoC projects needed more query throughput and we simply increased the leaves from 2 to 4 and were able to satisfy our customer that our platform was scalable.
By default, the setup is already configured for high availability. By expanding, we just need to add the so-called leafs. Adding a leaf (server) can be done via scripts to ensure a fast and simple way to add more capacity.
Our customers have to be prepared for massive growth in both data and analytics demands, considering an increasing complex data landscape and still ensuring easy and fast access to any type of (integrated) data for their users. SingleStore provides this solution with a powerful but easy to use scalable relational database.
Doing BI with [SingleStore (formerly MemSQL)] is incredibly satisfying. The core component of an analytics system is the database. [SingleStore] performs so well that our customers are able to think about new use cases which cannot be done with their legacy and traditional systems.

Maximum performance and scalability in one.
Now with the use of SingleStore [(formerly MemSQL)] we can handle spikes in user transactions, in our industry we need to handle this spikes seamless, we’re not knowing when a merchant is going to launch a promotion or super deal which is going to increase the volume of transactions. Performance sometimes is everything you need to have a happy customer.

Best in-memory scale out engine on the market for wealthy customers
Not much. The licensing model limits the "scaling" operation. Basically once you buy the capacity you will always use to that limit even at the beginning you don't need (as you already have to pay for it). And when you need more later, The option of scaling it out on demand is stopped by the license. E.g., I cannot scale out to 150% use on "busy days" while in the rest of the time using 75% of the capacity.
