Beware Before You Buy or Leave

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We switched to SIS Partner Platform in 2022-2023. We were on Applied Tam at the time and the demos all appeared to have more functions for less money. Once we switched and tried to switch back this year we have found lots of issues with the system. They lack in CL forms, accounting, processes, and the support is non-existent if you need to talk to a person.

Also, when we moved, Applied sent them policy level information. But when we moved to Epic, SIS Partner Platform would only send "shells" of the policies. Any information had to be redownloaded from the carriers or manually input.

They also are continuing to charge us, as apparently the fine print of the contract is that it "auto renews" after each year. So, in our experience, you basically can only leave at contract time each year. At signing we were told we could leave after 2 years for any reason, this appears to not be the case.

In my opinion, I would run to someone else if you are a commercial lines agency and considering this system.

Pros

  • Downloads
  • Personal lines
  • cheaper

Cons

  • No phone call number for support
  • In our experience, Inland Marine forms seemed off
  • In our experience, very very difficult in filling out new accords for input
  • In our opinion, accounting systems are not good
  • In our experience, fine print in the contract and it "auto renews" every year
  • In our experience, they only return the shells when you leave after accepting all your information

Return on Investment

  • downloads
  • technology
  • Reports

Alternatives Considered

Applied Epic and Applied TAM

Unless you're a small Personal Lines or small Commercial Agency - don't buy it!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Migrated from Applied TAM to SIS Partner. Used across the entire organization as agency management system.

Pros

  • Good search function in documents.
  • Easy to drag emails/documents into the system and attach to client profile.

Cons

  • Prospect side of system lacks functionality of the client side.
  • No search function in notes/the main area to view all activity (not just documents, but any additional notes such as logs of discussions with producers/clients/prospects, logged phone calls, etc.). Should have same search functionality in Notes as in Documents.
  • "Quick Summary" profiles lack functionality of true client profile area.
  • No ability to turn off downloads..........wipes out too much underwriting detail. Too many lines of business don't download (not sure whether SIS Partner issue or carrier side issue). No Garage, Crime, Equipment Floaters, Builders Risk-Installation Floater, etc.
  • From a commercial standpoint, their policy detail really only addresses the five major lines of business, i.e., Property, GL, Auto, WC and Umbrella. Other ancillary lines, there is no where to input policy detail (other than in a General Remarks section), which doesn't show up on the "summary" detail.
  • Very apparent this system was developed for Personal Lines and not meant to handle large, sophisticated Commercial Lines accounts. When you deal with their Help Desk folks........they are totally insurance unknowledgeable, and often don't understand what is being asked of them.
  • Help Desk "pat" answer is "we'll add it to the enhancement list", but there are thing requested long ago and still not fixed/changed.

Most Important Features

  • Can't think of any...not a single person I've talked to in the agency is happy with this system.

Return on Investment

  • Believe management choose the system strictly based on price and you get what you pay for.
  • That's what happens when you're owned by a bank that doesn't get/understand insurance.
