We are a 300-person company and Slack makes it easier to interact with each other and create chat rooms organized by topic and team. We also use Slack for private groups, and direct messaging, which is useful as well. Also it is super easy to call someone and share your screen. You can even draw on your screen while you share it, which is a great feature.
  • Screen sharing
  • Direct messaging
  • Quality of calls
  • Organizing chat rooms
  • Some of the features like "Mentions and Reactions" don't get used a lot
  • Another section that doesn't get a lof of use is "Threads"
Slack is really super easy to use so there is no real learning curve. Where I work, everyone is fully-remote (even before Covid) and we have about 300 employees so Slack is the perfect tool for direct messaging and also has the ability to integrate many apps such as Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Jira (all tools we use on a daily basis). For much smaller companies, Slack might be a bit pricey compared to other business messaging apps.

Highly used for internal communication and collaboration [among] different team members. [It especially] helps during the covid times when everyone is remotely working and collaborating and communication becomes most important
  • pin messages
  • tagging and notification highlights
  • integration with existing apps
  • sharing of files at group level similar to teams
Helps to tag and notify the entire channel of specific users. Slack has such an easy user interface GUI that it's easy to adopt and use. The collaboration is easy and with quick commands, we can easily invoke the zoom meetings due to its good integration with 3rd party apps. The same is good for auto notifications from outlook meetings due to its integration already done by our team.

Slack is a great communication tool to keep in touch with coworkers. We're a remote company (pre-covid) and switched from Skype to Slack about two years ago. I love being able to categorize messages by channel, and pinning documents to channels makes them easily accessible. Searching for messages is also very easy (i.e. you get what you're looking for). Slack makes communication within the company much clearer and easily accessible to everyone.
  • Company wide updates
  • Team communication
  • Search function is robust
  • I don't know if this is on Slack or my company's responsibility, but people don't always stick to threads which makes following a conversation more difficult. Maybe through AI Slack could offer a comment/reminder saying something like, "would you like this to be in a thread?" Y/N and then add it to a thread accordingly.
Slack is useful in businesses that have 40+ employees. I think below that number email/groups could suffice. However, in order to have better communication within teams and individuals and general company-wide policies and updates, Slack is a fantastic way to stay in touch with coworkers, especially when the company has multiple locations or a remote, distributed workforce.

Efficiency of any organization is much dependent on the amount and quality of the communication between its members. This applies especially now in COVID-19 times. We are using Slack as the minute-to-minute tool on keeping our team members in touch, in sync and living the same pulse. Slack is being used by most parts of our organization, but some parts are still resisting and willing to stay in the old solutions, including mass amounts of emails.
  • User interface options (web, mobile, application on PC) and overall look and feel with the color schemes are great
  • 2FA with Google Authenticator is reliable and works flawlessy
  • During screenshares, possibility to highlight items (or draw) in real time is awesome
  • Video conferencing could be better for quality, audio-video synchronization
  • Slack could do a better job implementing security in the product in ways that would make it acceptable by enterprise ITs more easily
  • Slackbot is sometimes highlighting users annoyingly
I don't know a better remote collaboration platform, and I've tried many. Slack works perfect for giving the feeling that you and your co-workers or teammates are in the same time and space, unlike some de facto office applications in my opinion. This for example is shown in how much better the response times are on Slack with our team than any other application. The main problem is that for some users, starting to use Slack seems to be too challenging and difficult.

Slack is a great platform to expand communication and interaction with the different workgroups and labor sectors that currently exist in my company. We are a company in the real estate sector and for us, Slack has meant a lot, since it has been a platform that has helped us to interact, share ideas, generate solutions, work as a team, and above all, be able to have a better planning of all work activities. The communication that Slack offers us is incomparable, it is a very stable platform that offers us very complete communication channels, where we can send images, documents, and files of any size. I am very grateful for the potential that Slack has provided since it was implemented in my company, it has proven to be a very powerful software capable of helping us to interact without having to carry out a complex process, in addition, its system is completely accessible, it gives me the possibility to interact from my mobile device.
  • The communication channels have an excellent notification system. Notifications in Slack are one of the things that make it a very beneficial software, because I can be attentive to any movement of the chat channels, also, I can know when I am being mentioned in any of the channels.
  • The transfer of images is completely effective, it does not diminish the quality of the images that are transferred through the chat channels.
  • The application for mobile devices is very complete, I have general access to all the chats that exist within my company, in addition, I also have the ability to reply to messages from this application.
  • The communication channels can be accessed by any employee of any sector, this facilitates the communication of the various sectors and achieves that all sectors can share information between them.
  • The main problem we have had with using Slack is in relation to its word search system. This platform offers us a search system since on many occasions, some messages are lost during long conversations, however, this search system is not as effective since it only shows the most recent words of the search and does not show all of the results. It is important to note that a deeper and more exact search would help us find messages faster.
Slack is the appropriate software for small, medium, or large companies, this software is capable of adapting to any work area and allows all sectors to maintain wide communication that helps them have a better sharing of information and data of great importance. Its chat channels are very stable, it has a perfect interface that is very easy to use and quite comfortable. The chat channels are very complete, allowing you to transfer all kinds of files and share any image with the members of the chat channels. It does not matter if Slack is in the project sector, or in the Sales sector, it will also bring remarkable results in performance, planning, and work communication.

Currently Slack is used in all sectors of our company because the main platform we use to have open communication with various employees who have different job roles and also with employees in our Marketing sector. Slack has been a great platform for communication, interaction and development of all kinds of tasks online, with the COVID-19 pandemic, Slack has been a very important software in our company because it has helped us to have a wide communication virtually and thus we can maintain stable contact with each of the employees who work in different parts of the country.

With Slack we have been able to carry out great conversations between a group of people or individually, it is a software that has allowed us to hold group discussions and has also allowed us to hold meetings where we can talk about various topics. With Slack we can be updated at all times about the messages that we have pending to review and we can also continue conversations at any time, everything is saved in a database and the conversations in each chat channel are maintained no matter how long they pass.

We are very happy with the extensive communication Slack has provided us throughout this time.
  • The main feature that I love about Slack is the section below the main panel, where I can access unread messages, specific threads of conversations and also gives me access to all the mentions that have been during my downtime . In addition, I also have a visualization of the messages saved in this section, so I have everything in one place, everything very organized.
  • Slack has an excellent integration with the Marketing system of our company, in this way we can have a wide administration of emails and marketing automation while conducting a team conversation. This integration is quite functional and has a very notable success for our Marketing sector, we can have long conversations while managing the marketing, all from one place.
  • I love the notification system that Slack has, it's the great synchronization it has. Slack allows me to receive notifications on all devices linked to my Slack account, which helps me receive notifications on my phone and also on my desktop computer. These notifications are sent simultaneously, which allows me to be active and view all the movement that occurs in the chat channels.
  • The main problem we have in Slack is that conversations sometimes get out of control and there is no way to regulate this, there is no configuration that controls the amount of messages or the general volume of messages that can be in a channel, which causes our employees to have long topics of conversation that disrupt productivity. I would like to be able to regulate this with some Slack configuration.
  • Slack's search system is one of the features that doesn't work successfully. This search system has a long delay when I insert a word in the search, it takes a long time to perform the search, in addition, it does not show all the results of the searched word, it only shows the most outstanding and most recent results.
Slack is a perfect software for all those companies looking for a system where communication is consistent and a great interaction can be had between different work teams.

Slack is an essential platform for all types of sectors of a company, it adapts quickly to any sector and offers a system where you can have all kinds of conversations and you can generate discussions, meetings and stable interaction. Its UI is completely easy to understand and is very organized, all the chat channels are organized and this helps to have a good visualization of the different chats of the other sectors. One of the most outstanding problems is the fact that there is no configuration to regulate the messages of the chat channels, however, this problem is easily solved manually, controlling the communication of all employees and having a constant monitoring of the conversations.

At this time Slack is being used within our department. Since Covid-19's changes, we have been working remotely for the last 3 months and Slack has helped us stay connected throughout the day. It's easier to quickly get a question out to the team and discuss in real time, rather than awaiting emails or getting everyone on a different platform. We love it!
  • Easy to use.
  • Free.
  • Great for large groups.
  • Not the prettiest app to look at, looks a bit old school.
  • Inability to block users.
I believe Slack is a great alternative to group chatting with co-workers in different departments. It's free to use, and easy to navigate. You can have multiple groupings which is great!
