We use SmartRecruiters across our Americas organization. The tool has helped automate and report in real time all of our recruiting activities. It has proven to be a highly valued tool, especially in our seasonal ramps. The tool has allowed us the ability to stay in communication with applicants and internally as a Team.
  • The Apps on Android and Iphone are great while on the run.
  • The ability to assess and see that as a consolidated score across Team members is great.
  • Applicants love the auto import from Linkedin and Facebook.
  • Adhoc reporting is not available on Team version.
It's a great tool in the call center industry.

The tool keeps everyone informs of a open position and the candidates in consideration.

No, we use SmartRecruiters as a standalone recruiting solution.
We hope to integrate our recruiting tool into a new HR system but have nor decided on a final product. SmartRecruiters is a outstanding tool and we choose it over having an integrated system that did not offer all the benefits.
Assessment and Job boards are used extensively.
We were able to use some API integration that helped with our HRIS updates.

Mostly initial social media coordinator then a handoff to recruiters who start the filters and assessments. They all have intermediate skills in using apps, but SR processes are very intuitive.
  • We ramp each season to a 3x of base and this tool allows for that level of efficiency and speed to fill.
  • The social aspects are very easy to use and makes for easy cross channel ads to specific target groups.
  • The approval flow to Ops as a final sign off has helped keep the process transparent.
  • We host meet-up of 20-30 applicants and in these casual meetings we interact with candidates, we also have Ops and others in the organization join using the tool on their smartphones they are able to assess realtime all of the candidates and after the meet-up HR has all the feedback instantly.
  • Hopefully to integrate into our HRIS tools.
It's been a tool that has given our organization the ability to ramp at speeds and with quality beyond what our local competitors could do.

SmartRecruiters is being implemented across the organization. All managers, recruiters, business partners and directors will use the system on a day to day basis. The employee population will also have access to the employee site/referral portal. The system allow us to work smarter not longer. It allows us to save money on job board distribution and integrates well with LinkedIn.

  • The ability to change things your self is amazing.
  • There is no ability to post only internally, every job gets posted internally and externally
  • The levels of security and functionality needs to be rethought. Managers should be able to view but not edit.

It is a simple process that anyone can do.
I am not sure my hiring manager will use the system as it is meant to be used. It takes a lot of time, which they want to leave up to us.

With a small company like ours, we do not have our own Applicant Tracking System so SmartRecruiters has been an asset I utilize daily.
  • Activity log if great to have especially while adding team members to review
  • With no cost to our company, job posting to free boards has been useful along with the social media added.
  • User friendly and simplified!
  • Able to delete activity. Sometimes there our qlithes and duplicates are seen. Also, sometimes just busy and added activity/feedback on the wrong candidate.
  • Would like to be able to add entire address, not just the city and state.
  • Would like fields for "Phone" and "email" to not be required for candidate profiles as sometimes that is not always given on resumes while sourcing candidates.
Absolutely wonderful! Not all companies can afford an ATS so this is a great tool to have.

SmartRecruiters has been making changes since I've used it for several years but now the looking is starting to look sloppy and have to train users again on how to use it. Would be nice to get a notice prior to the change or a quick video to send to users that show the changes and how to work with them.

Not so compatible with other browsers and that is something they still have not resolved and just suggested I used IE version 10 and not 11 or Google Chrome.
last May 2014, tried to send an invitation to join SmartRecruiters and the user received an error message every time they click on the invitation link. We were instructed to have the user clear with web browser cache and cookies prior to signing. After several attempts of them trying to resolve the problem, we found out that the problem was on our end with the user using a different browser using EI11 and had to put back to EI10 and was working properly.

We use SmartRecruiters as our central platform for recruiting throughout our entire organization. HR posts the positions and we invite hiring managers to view and rate candidates, while HR continues using the tool throughout the hiring process. SmartRecruiters has as addressed our past problem of not having a recruitment tool for our managers and for human resources. Having a replaced a paper-based application and hundreds manual emails, it has vastly streamlined our process. The best part, as a non-profit, is the cost - free!
  • Streamlined communications with candidates - send emails and invites directly from a candidate's profile
  • Posting jobs - SmartRecruiters has dozens of major job boards built into the system, allowing for an easy "pick and click" job posting function
  • Strong support team. Through a message board system, as well as an assigned company representative, questions are typically answered quickly and honestly.
  • Ease of use. The interface is very user-friendly, both from an administrative and end-user perspective.
  • Flexibility in adding additional questions to the application. While there is a custom area for additional application questions, it is very limited and looks like something thrown in to the end of the application as an add on.
  • Customization. More customization of the product would allow us to capture additional information we need for specific positions.
A couple of our positions require DOT-specific information in the application process. Unfortunately, we can get this information through SmartRecruiters. If you are looking for specific information based on a position, it may not be the best for you.
  • Better customer service - we are able to communicate quickly and effectively with candidates throughout the job posting process, including informing those we do not select.
  • Eliminated the printing of thousands of emailed resumes, saving annually on paper and printer supplies. (Part of this was just the fact that we went from a paper application to an online system).
  • Cost savings on recruitment. Multiple hours were spent posting jobs to individual websites in the past, now all done on one screen via SmartRecruiters.
SmartRecruiters was a simple choice for our organization at the time of our implementation of an online recruitment system because of cost. While other systems maybe had more bells and whistles, integration, or better support, we chose SmartRecruiters because if was free. A government-funded non-profit is rarely stable and often facing budgets cuts, we based our decision extensively on this factor. The ease of use of the product was also very important.
We may chose to go in a different direction in the coming year, mainly due to the potential implementation of a new HRIS that has an integrated ATS. If we don't go in that direction, we will stick with SmartRecruiters, as it is a very solid product. You really can't ask for much more out of a free product.

As the organization's recruiter, I use SmartRecruiters on a daily basis. Additional members of HR use it when I am out of the office. Otherwise, all of our hiring managers are required to use it as the main piece of our recruiting structure. These positions range from mid-level managers on up to our Executive Director.

I provide all of the in-house support to our end users whenever they need help. As part of our policy, HR oversees all job postings and communications with candidates. This limits the amount of features management needs to use. If there are ever any major questions, I ask SmartRecruiters directly. Skills needed would be knowledge of web-based applications, strong writing skills (for job ads and email responses). It's a fairly easy product to implement and teach to staff.
