Snaplogic was brought in during our migration from Oracle Ebiz on Prem to Oracle HCM cloud. During that same time, we also implemented Okta with custom IDM hooks to both Oracle HCM and Ellucian Banner. We had a spaghetti integration structure, integrations all over the place and not well monitored. We have since implemented Snaplogic and are now seeing significant ROI on our integrations as well as begun to develop in-house APIs for use across the campus. We are looking to expand the platform into Data Warehousing in the coming year or two.
  • Pricing.
  • Support and Customer Follow-up.
  • Almost limitless integration ability.
  • UI, little hard to learn.
  • Training.
  • User conference.
Snaplogic has the BEST pricing model in the industry. There are no excessive "end-point" pricing or # of API call-only pricing models. They allow for on-premise hosting of their Nodes, which gives us the flexibility t expand endpoints and API calls without massive budget overruns. They listen to their customers and meet with us monthly to go over release notes AND ask for feedback/issues/tickets we have faced in the last month to address them. I've never seen another vendor do this in my 25 years of IT. The Snaplogic UI has a steep learning curve and its UI isn't the best. It's not as easy as say a Tray.io or Zapier but it is much more fully-featured. Snaplogic realized their gap and has since released Snaplogic Flows (Zapier, point, and click) integrations.

  • Massive ROI on hybrid intergrations.
  • Standard integration platform and code base across all of IT.
  • Ability to turn around integrations in hours/days vs weeks.
Boomi was our runner-up product. The pricing model was much higher and cost-prohibitive. They were not as flexible with pricing on a non-profit higher education institution. We did love their integration code library shared across all clients. The user interface was on par with Snaplogic as well as the features that come included. Overall, seemed like a solid product just found something better for a lower price point.

Most of the users are IT-based used. We have expanded the use to "tech" staff in other departments where they need to build integrations with systems that IT does not own or control, such as Advancement, Library, etc. With the release of Snaplogic Flows, we can see business users using that tool to expand point and click integrations that they need.

We have about 6 staff who use Snaplogic on a regular basis for all different integrations/APIs. 3 of our staff are Snaplogic Certified Developers and act as the SME for the other 5+ users that may need help. On top of that Snaplogic Support is AMAZING. Always quick to respond and work through issues with us.
  • Integrations - Hybrid environment.
  • API Management.
  • In house Identity Provisioning System based on Okta/AD.
  • Data Warehousing.
  • Full API Catalog.
This has been hands down the BEST software company I have ever used and dealt with. I am a 25 year IT veteran at this college. They go above and beyond in soliciting our feedback/input and proactively follow up about bugs, issues, etc. I have given multiple potential clients my thoughts and after seeing the SL demo they all sign up. I appreciate their support model, it's REFRESHING!

We use SnapLogic in the engineering department. My team, the data engineering team, is the primary user of SnapLogic. SnapLogic allows us to load in data from all of our external sources into a single source, our datamart, which we then use for business analysis.
  • SnapLogic is great at connecting quickly to an external source.
  • SnapLogic is great at building complex logic into ETL pipelines
  • SnapLogic is great at connecting to many different external sources and bringing the data together into a single source
  • SnapLogic has many UI weaknesses that make working in it daily pretty frustrating
  • SnapLogic has trouble connecting to certain external sources that it has specific snaps for which is frustrating
  • SnapLogic has a hard time abstracting out complex pipelines in order to reuse them without having to copy and paste
SnapLogic is well suited for business analysts or engineers who are looking for a fast and easy way to load in data from external sources. It is not great for real-time updates to large datasets or for large rebuilds of data. It is not great for abstracting out a process that you want to reuse in many different scenarios.
  • Pre built snap packs that allow us to seamlessly connect to third party software and databases
  • Flexible pipeline environment which allows us to do whatever we want with our data and even build out complex business processes

  • SnapLogic has provided us with a fast and reliable way to load in data from many external sources into a single data warehouse. We leverage this data across the company to make key business decisions
SnapLogic was a lot cheaper and does not have as steep of a learning curve

We have data engineers who have experience in developing software and data in order to manage our internal deployment of SnapLogic
  • ETL data into our data warehouse
  • Run our entire billing process
  • Push data into other third party software such as Salesforce
  • We have used SnapLogic to build our entire billing pipeline
  • We are planning on leveraging SnapLogic to integrate more data sources
SnapLogic is amazing value. We are able to do whatever we need to in SnapLogic and it is quick and easy.

The platform flexibility was the single most important factor. We can accomplish many different things with SnapLogic
I would do it the same.

Change management was minimal
  • We just needed to deploy a groundplex in our own VPC which was a bit tricky
The groundplex in our VPC is very nice for security reasons and the SnapLogic team was extremely helpful during our implementation
SnapLogic product support is great and the community is good. The documentation could be a bit better, especially free training videos on how to use the product.
No I didn't. We didn't have to. We don't run into too many issues.
Yes
No it wasn't.
The onboarding experience was really nice. They were very hands on helping us get our Groundplex set up in our VPC
It is very powerful but has a steep learning curve
  • Simple ETL
  • Simple REST Calls
  • Complex data transformations
  • Handling different data object types
