Main agenda to use kiwi syslog product to ingest network related logs . Initially I thought its expensive but its not that much per year they are charging $319 and unlimited technical support . The licensed version can handle around 2 million messages per hour, and the free version handles about 300,000 per hour and licensed version has default 500,000 message buffer, while the free version has a maximum 500 message buffer

Syslog-ng don't have customer support or technical support .But its a free software and no clarity on limitations ingestion bandwidth. No gui feature and everything should be done from backend. Gui can easily help to start and stop service ,easy to configure. Unlimited technical and customer support . Even when server got shutdown will get on-call or immediate support that will helps a lot to resolve errors

Kiwi Syslog server review
We are using SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server to store all the Syslog messages from our network devices which includes Switches, Router, Firewall, Servers, UPS and storage. It is very helpful and easy to use tool in case any incident happens on the device. We can simply filter the logs based on it's IP and incident time and get the last message sent by the affected device.

PRTG Network Monitor does not give enough reporting and visibility as SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server provides. PRTG Network Monitor Syslog is just a sensor but SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server has separate applications which are very useful.
A small company I was working with needed a centralized logging solution to fulfill some security requirements of a client. They didn't need anything robust and powerful (e.g. Splunk or SolarWinds' other logging solution) and they didn't want to spend too much money on the solution. Based on those requirements, SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog worked perfectly. The solution did everything we needed it to do and was very user-friendly.

SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog is a bare-bones Syslog Server. It doesn't have the advanced features of Splunk and SolarWinds Log Analyzer such as alerting, log analysis, event correlation, etc. However, if you're an SMB and just need a solution to fulfill a security requirement, then Kiwi may be a perfect fit. Deployment is quick and easy, and the UI is very straightforward.

Finally: Fast, Easy, *and* Cheap!
Kiwi Syslog is used only internally by our network engineering team. We consider it to be highly useful; as it's easy to set up and has minimal need for any additional configuration. We use it regularly as a replacement for the SolarWinds Orion Syslog that is part of their NPM package; as we find that the NPM syslog can't always keep up with logs.
- Fast! Logging is close to real-time.
- Simple set up
- Cheap. The whole product is usually less than $300 USD.
- Minimalistic; If you're looking for something with analysis features look elsewhere.
- Operating System support is Windows only.
- Some management features cannot be configured via web interface.
- Increased visibility into Network Issues

Our group already had a license for the Orion Syslog server that comes bundled with Orion NPM, but it didn't quite meet our requirements for performance. Elasticsearch and Graylog easily met our performance requirements, but not enough team members were able to manage the software and handle updates, or security patching. An added bonus was of course the pricing of the application.

Kiwi has everything you need
This software is used by the IT team to retain our logs of all our critical network devices. It was purchased for ease of installation and for the support provided by SolarWinds. I have been pleased on both counts. This software was extremely easy to configure and get going in a matter of hours. I would certainly buy this again in the future.
- Easy to install.
- Easy to configure.
- Support was top notch.
- There are free options available so price is a concern.
- This will allow us to hopefully pinpoint an intrusion if it should happen.
The price for Kiwi was acceptable and it checked off all the boxes of a product that we needed. I also considered Graylog but Kiwi was much easier to configure.
