SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM) can help save time and improve network reliability and security by managing configurations, changes, and compliance for routers, switches, and other network devices.

Network Configuration Manager enables IT Pros with:
  • Out-of-the-box support for major network device vendors, including Cisco®, Juniper®, HP®, Huawei®, F5®, Avaya®, Ruckus®, and more.
  • Automated bulk deployment of standardized device configs.
  • Automatic backups of device configurations, and rollback to the last-known good configurations, if necessary.
  • Identifying IOS® devices with potential vulnerabilities, utilizing the NIST CVE repository service, and even provides the tools to manage the investigation, remediation, or waiver of each vulnerability.
  • Auditing device configs for NIST FISMA, DISA STIG, and DSS PCI compliance.
  • Built on the Orion® Platform, NCM provides the ability to purchase and fully integrate with additional network monitoring modules (network performance monitoring, NetFlow traffic analysis, WAN management, VoIP, device tracking, and IP address management), as well as systems, storage, and virtualization management, all in a single web console.

The support from SolarWinds has always been great. They work with you when you need them to work with you. They are always well spoken and well-versed in their products. When they are unable to answer questions they always are able to escalate to others who can. It has been one of my favorite vendors to work with.

The support we got from SolarWinds has always been very good--very professional, quick to respond, and flexible when needed. Even when we had a specific requirement, support was ready to help us. I did not specifically work with SolarWinds support on SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM). No major issues, so in general they are very good.

To be fair, I have not had to involve Support in a number of years, but when I did, I was greeted with enthusiastic engineers who wanted to understand and solve the issue. It was a fairly complex scenario and I have discovered in my most recent implementation that engineering included that option as a standard now.

No different VS any other SolarWinds products we have to deal with. Support is not well trained and seem to be internally discouraged from escalating even if they do not know what to do.

They will tell you it's your problem until you prove 3 different ways that it's the system and then they'll "escalate to an engineer" at which point they might help you or close the case blaming some internally well-known thing that isn't shared with customers.

everytime i have to call into solarwinds for support that are very knowledgeable and well versed in their products. i have never had an issue with a support engineer not knowing or at least not knowing how to find the information to fix my problem. i can't be happier with their support.
