It is easy to use, with clear and easy to understand controls. Really can't go wrong with any Solarwinds product, and this is no different. Big thing, just easy to use, so you are more likely to use it. Do not need a difficult to use tool. It is as straight fwd as any other solarwinds app.

In my experience, setting up alerts and monitors for services or processes isn't difficult once you understand the software. But with Solarwinds SAM, it was almost too easy. I found it to very intuitive to create exactly the alerts that I wanted to see, or the dashboards for our NOC operators. Another issue with monitoring tools is that they will generally fire off so many email alerts, that people will start to filter them out and defeat the entire purpose. We were able to create specific alerts with thresholds so that 95% of the time, if we received an alert after hours, we new it was important.

SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor is quite easy to use and super versatile. It allows you to do just about anything you can through premade templates or through scripting. You can use an agent on the servers if you want to, or you can monitor through WMI or SNMP credentials. You can customize thresholds for alerting quickly, and you can configure alerts to be as complex or as simple as you want.

It is incredibly easy to use and set up, and the GUI looks nice as well. This has saved us so much time and man hours by taking the guess work out of resource planning, and troubleshooting. We've been able to hook it up to most of our equipment for monitoring, and there always seems to be a specific monitor for whatever software/hardware we add to it

Overall, it is a pretty useful tool that can help you navigate the application status via application health overview map and you can quickly check how many apps are still up running and how many of them are having issues. Apart from that you can also change the usage percentage for CPU and memory.

This best tool for servers infrastructure monitoring .It is also very good for Applications monitoring but ,i have deducted 2 points because there is no stack trace or code level monitoring that can be done by it .But this tool is very easy to use and if you are not developing applications in house and only monitoring third party applications then this is the best tool to monitor those .

Once SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor was installed and up and running, there was considerable time adding servers and making sure any issues with services and proper credentials were ironed out. Using SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor, the interface and the many details of what information is being monitored is good, and anyone that is already familiar with monitoring applications can acclimate themselves fairly quickly. SolarWinds provides a wealth of help in the form of KB articles, videos, interactive classes, and other sessions to become more proficient at using SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor.

We are still implementing a usable network graphic to display in our IT office. However, this is not complete. This rating will likely change as that process progresses.

Even for someone like me, who is not used to tools like SolarWinds, it was easy to understand, easy to adjust to using and had a lot of capabilities. Our more experienced team members had no trouble at all adjusting to using the tool once it was implemented across our organization.

The product works and provides us an insight as what is taking place in the environment. Also relatively speaking it is easy to setup and run to get quick value out of the product and the overhead is low.

What makes this product great is that it is easy to setup and configure. Many products are very time consuming to get setup and implement. This leads to a delay in their use, and slow adoption. Because of the ease of use of Solarwinds we have gotten a lot of use out of it.

Once you learn about how SAM is configured and setup it becomes relatively easy to spin up multiple custom monitoring portals. Many different people from different departments in ITD have learned how to use it and have become familiar with its capabilities. It is also updated often with new patches with new functionality and stability.
