Reviews
(1-25 of 54)A perfect software for 3D modeling and large assemblies
- Improved performance compared to the previous software
- Slightly reduced costs
- Added the chance of creating catalogue images on our own
A student's perspective on SOLIDWORKS
- Greater Cohesion of Design
- Easier Collaboration
- Can be finicky with lots of parts in an assembly.
- Average not much exciting result but yes it is a good product
- Improvement needed as competitor are doing pretty well.
SOLIDWORKS - Best Companion for Mechanical Engineers
- Instead of designing standard components, I can directly import it from design library, thus saving my simulation time and improves productivity.
- No manual weight calculation, SOLIDWORKS will do the same for us
- For complex components, the results are not very accurate, hence need to use different software for the same.
Solidworks is a good choice
- Improve design quality so spending on warranty reduced
- Improve documentation so existing parts and assemblies are easier to find
- Engineering time spend increased by implementing more 3D designing
Solidworks and Injection Molding Analysis Review
- SOLIDWORKS provides relative low cost of licensing, with respect to other CAD modeling software. Given that we only use it if needed, it provides the best tools for the price and for our usage frequency.
- Outside of my expertise as a design engineer
- Save time on drafting
- Time lost in yearly upgrades
- Costly network licences
- The ROI of SolidWorks occurred for our company likely within the first 6-12 months of its adoption (13 years ago). These days, it's hard to imagine running our business without it as it is the foundation for all of the products we manufacture.
Solidworks is easy to use with great functions
- It has standardized our estimating department.
- It has decreased the time to create flat patterns.
- It has decreased the time to create in house drawings.
SOLIDWORKS for the future generations
- Saves time on reverse engineering a part from concept to prototype and into production.
- Ease of training new employees to use SOLIDWORKS.
Sketch feature should be like DraftSight
- Hard to answer directly. Given our customer's needs, we absolutely have to have SW to open their file types.
- Given the relatively limited use we need at our company, it would be useful to have a cheaper option that was more stripped down but still had some capabilities. Something in-between SW and eDrawings, for example. SW is very capable and expensive, eDrawings is free and super limited. Would be nice to have a middle option.
SOLIDWORKS and its Capabilities
- Helpful in creating assemblies for printing equipment
- Software used for years of machine development
- Long design times on assembly iterations
SOLIDWORKS Review
- Increased speed of manufacturing
- Increased customer clarity of what we are selling
Powerful tool for 3D design
- Design time has reduced
- Prototyping is more efficient
- Modification and issue resolution is much simpler
- They have a fair licensing model that requires yearly renewals but the costs are not terrible by comparison to other software.
- The upgrade process could be a little easier but it's not terrible and the available support is always there if needed.
Definitely not worth it. Very Slow and the program is a crash-maniac
- Made me lose interest in design engineering
SOLIDWORKS Review
- Especially useful when building complex sheet metal parts, such as hoppers and tanks - saves a lot of time!
- Allows you to view and build 3D parts that you can move to other view points to make construction and manipulation easier
- SOLIDWORKS is a bit expensive and doesn't come with a good way to manipulate the 2D files you can export from it.
Best 3D prototyping software
- This minimizes the number of actual cycles of prototyping to get final product.
- This reduces the timeline of project work.
- Easy getting professional drawings without doing additional work.
Easy to learn
- SOLIDWORKS is an integral piece of software for our company. It has allowed us to design, analyze, and test our product before we spend money building it physically.
- Massive increase in productivity from paper to 3D printed model in a few hours
- Workflow was painful before...now it's not...time is money!
SOLIDWORKS - great software for design!
- SOLIDWORKS has allowed us to design and iterate more quickly.
SOLIDWORKS! From a Solid User
- Part flow.
- Time management.
- Validation.
SOLIDWORKS for manufacturing ease
- Faster design iterations and fewer errors lead to quicker time to market.
- It took about two and a half months to learn versus four and a half months learning other CAD programs.
- Ramp up time to productivity in SOLIDWORKS improved by 50%.
Easy to use, easy to learn, does the job.
- Relatively easy to find experienced SOLIDWORKS engineers.
- Ease of use for rapid product modelling.
