(1-25 of 27)Best In Class Database
- Time saving.
- Easy connect.
- Spending less time to managed it.
- Easy interface for developers.
- Developer are available widely to work on SQL.
My Azure SQL Database Review
- It's cheaper for us than maintaining our own hardware but it's easy to spend more to get more, i.e. price creep.
- It's very easy and quick to build out a new database to test/POC a new project.
- Our database costs have decreased over time by 20%.
- Our engineer spends much less time managing API calls with some of the new features available.
- Our engineer is planning on using the Power Query embedded feature to streamline some ETL processes.
Simple, Fast, and Powerful
- As you know, Cloud is an incredibly useful environment for really lowering costs. We purchased the systems that we anticipated we might need in the future decades-long ago, those resources were in vain. There is no waste on the cloud side because the resource is determined according to the need.
- Backup space costs per GB per unit lower than physical storage costs.
- You can rent the system that you need dozens of approvals and budgets to have in the normal process, and you can return to the old cost-effective structure immediately when you are done.
- You can turn off the system you don't need.
- We use geographic backup, which we could not have without cloud, with very reasonable numbers.
- There is no need to change the codes during the migration to SQL and the cost of hiring a developer is saved
- At peak usage and workload, when resources are intelligently managed, there is no need to pay extra.
Too expensive to be really useful overall.
- Positive: very easy implementation!
- Positive: finally a good (easy) implementation of data masking, something we always neglected on premise.
- Positive: no maintenance!! No "server is down" messages on your phone at 3 'o clock in the morning.
- Negative: Too expensive to use for all other scenario's than a few very important applications.
- Cost reduction was over 70%
- Eliminated the need to invest [...] thousands of dollars in hardware and licenses
- Quick and rapid deployment with quick recovery and scalability saved us countless hours in provisioning and deployment
- Overall, Automation in Azure is great, and Azure SQL makes good use of Azure Automation, saving countless hours and automating many key operations
- Scalability is a great cost saver that doesn't compromise on performance
- It was easy for our developers to setup and use this service.
- It has helped us in reducing the cost of managing SQL database.
- Its ability to scale up and down based on requirement is best.
AZURE cost effective reliability!
- It has saved us time
- Ease of use for new hires
- Reliability
Secure Product Providing High-Performance
- Was worth it to implement across the company. Our needs are completely met by the product.
- Eliminates time wasted on other products with a less friendly UI.
Azure SQL - your solution for Agility and Scalability
- We don't need a dedicated SQL dba because so many of the database maintenance operations are managed. A huge positive not only in budget but time constraints.
- The ability to scale quickly is the biggest positive as our data needs change constantly.
- Easy to migrate from legacy tools and systems, saving us on the need for redevelopment.
Azure SQL Database - Good Now, Getting Even Better
- This boils down to the use of OPEX as oppose to CAPEX which is perceived as an advantage over the old model of doing business.
- The many barriers to scaling a solution fade away. It typically becomes a quick pitch with facts on the resource overuse or saturation and an up-sizing is approved.
- The extra development would be often necessary for unsupported features or a differently implemented security.
Easy decision, good price.
- We get our data much faster and hassle-free with direct connections to our apps.
- All our costs for major projects are now self-contained within a subscription, so managing costs is easy.
- Negative is the speed at which it can take to connect DB that are not in the same subscription or region, but that’s across the board.
- Cost saving is best for the company
- Sociability and performance gives better user experience.
- Business continuity and disaster recovery
Azure SQL Databases is quick to scale
- Azure SQL Databases are a great solution and with the Azure pricing model, you can reduce costs in most scenarios. They also have added intrinsic value by the products nature of being scale-able to the current task (i.e.- a short term need for more processing power).
Azure Sql rocks
- Fewer resources required compared to on premises solutions, so better ROI
- Reduced gestation time, so better ROI
- Easy for training and prototypes
Great answer for scalability!
- The big plus here is the security with our users. We sell our software and the companies that buy it are concerned with our employees stealing information. Azure really helped improved our security more efficiently so no one that isn't supposed to can see our partner's data.
- The average query running time has significantly decreased, which is huge.
Azure SQL Database: The Best PaaS offering for SQL Server
- With easily managed secondaries and point-in-time restoration, Azure SQL Database provides a very robust set of built-in features for disaster recovery that have saved us a lot of work making our own.
- Integration with Azure DevOps and the Azure Management APIs that allow automation of resources and deployments has allowed us to run for years without a full-time DevOps person
- Elastic database capabilities have allowed for significant cost savings of our infrastructure that now boasts thousands of SQL database running on the platform.
Intro to Azure SQL DB
- Makes the database cost for our use case more predictable and regular
- Adds redundancy capabilities much easier than implementing our own
- Integrates easily with the other Azure services we utilize
Azure SQL DB is an example of how a DBaaS should be done.
- Perfect for small and medium databases, being very cost effective.
- As a Platform as a Service, there is no concern about patches, upgrades and end of life.
- Be aware of security and network capabilities. The service cannot run in the VNET as Azure Virtual Machines do.
The Hidden Savings of Using Azure
- Better availability for IT
- Faster deployment.
- Easy changes to resources.
- Convenient subscription model
Easy to maintain large and complex data
- Overall it increased the business profits as customers trust the system.
- Storage capacity is very large so we do not need to worry about this.
- It saves business old transactions to monitor business growth and help in making plans for the future.
Reviewing Azure SQL Database
- Increased Process Improvement
- Added database functionality
- Tracking efficientcies are addressed
- Serving a great purpose. We solved our issue and are using the cloud. The ability to scale up or down at will is amazing.
- I wanted to do cross data querying. It is not supported.
- The return on investment has proved it to be a great solution.
Azure "The Best to catch a breath for your self"
- As compared to On Site SQL server AZURE is less hectic and less responsibility to worry for.
- It pretty much easy to follow devOps or Agile for Backlogs as AZURE allows to take care of its own things.
- Database scalability, Patching and Upgrading is the best thing it gives in return
