STORIS is a provider of modern technology solutions for home furnishings, bedding, and appliance retailers. From showrooms and eCommerce website to distribution centers, STORIS helps to enhance the customer experience and increase revenue across channels in the dynamic retail marketplace.

STORIS’ ERP software provides automation and integration of all facets of retail operations including point of sale, order management, inventory control, merchandising, business intelligence, supply chain management, and accounting.

To provide sales associates with a modern selling toolkit, the STORIS NextGen platform is engineered using a webbased architecture to deliver Customer Experience Management (CXM) and Mobile POS solutions.

We are utilizing STORIS POS throughout the entire organization with the main focus being retail sales and inventory management. The software has allowed us to gain control of our inventory in a much more effective manner. The reporting side is robust and allows us to really drill down into the numbers from products to sales. We do not have an IT department and had some hiccups along the way, however the customer service side of STORIS has been more than helpful and fast to respond. As a customer, you have the ability to continue your STORIS "education" at your own pace with the availability of classes and tutorials. Our Client Advocate is always checking in and making sure that our needs are being met and answers any questions as they arise. It is nice to have that support when you are not tech savvy in the least.

  • Would like to see a more "out of the box" user friendly set up for smaller companies that don't have IT.
  • Would like to see a built reporting package that companies can expand on.
Inter-store Transfers and Inventories have always been an issue, and this program will let you know that something isn't completed and or processed correctly. The ability to set the security levels of staff is a major plus for our business, from Management to RSA's we can allow what information we want them to have. RSA's love the instant feedback of the program from tracking sales and commissions to responding to an incorrect sales order. The system doesn't allow you to forget there may be a problem, which is key to ensuring accuracy of your processes and procedures.

As with everything, there is always room for improvement. A better out of the box process would go a long way for taking on small retailers and companies.
This can be an overwhelming experience if you are new to point of sale software. There is a lot of information and decisions that have to be made as you set up this system. I highly recommend the in person training to get a better idea of the process. With that being said, this is the reason you want a system like this, it gives you the ability, control and support to build a system that meets your needs with the flexibility to make changes as you grow.

We use STORIS in every department to manage our business - Inventory, Merchandising, Sales, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Customer Service.
  • Inventory Control is an important factor. STORIS does a good job of tracking inventory from the order being placed with the vendor to the merchandise being delivered to the customer.
  • The Sales module provides extensive information pertaining to each purchase from the customer. The comments section of this module, as well as all other modules, is very useful to determine what actions were taken for each sale, along with dates and times of every occurrence.
  • The Report Builder is an excellent tool to create customized reports relevant to our business' way of obtaining information.
  • One area that currently doesn't exist would be to have the ability to track out-of-carton merchandise
  • There are some screens that require redundant keystrokes to obtain additional information. You sometimes have to "start over" to find the same information for additional products, customers, etc.
  • In some cases, the system is too restrictive, and will not let you take any shortcuts. As an example, if you receive service parts at no charge from the vendor, the purchase order for the parts cannot be closed out unless you enter a no-charge invoice to offset the received parts order.
STORIS is a great solution for all aspects of a retail furniture store. It is well suited to incorporate modern technology for better communication with customers and vendors. We also use the STORIS website module to advertise our business, and it synchronizes data from our inventory module enabling automatic updates to the website. Transitioning from our previous software provider was a bit difficult because we were used to doing things differently for almost 35 years.
  • STORIS has allowed us to continue to have excellent inventory control. We have always had virtually no problems with not-in-location merchandise, and we have maintained that level of accuracy with Storis.
  • We have improved efficiency by eliminating manual postings for certain receivables, payables, and sales information. We require less staff to handle the day to day processing.
  • We also use the optional module for delivery truck routing, which integrates well with the STORIS system.
  • The website integration with the STORIS system has enabled us to show products much easier than we did with our previous software solution & web host provider. There is no longer much manual updating required.
We used a similar POS system for 35 years, and it worked quite well for a long time. However, the base technology did not keep up with the changing times, and any updates to the software were slow and expensive. In considering a new solution, we looked at several other companies that had very similar offerings, but felt that STORIS was the most technologically advanced, and had the most to offer.

Storis is considered to be our ERP system. It is used throughout our organization for point of sale, inventory control, accounting, purchasing, etc.
  • It handles the unique sales order process to the furniture industry beautifully.
  • With Advanced Warehouse Management capabilities it makes running the distribution centers much more efficient.
  • It's mobile applications make it possible for our sales staff to take much better care of the consumer without ever leaving their side to find a terminal.
  • Currently the client platform has to run in a Windows environment. But I understand they are starting the address this.
If you are in the furniture business or any large ticket item, for that fact, this is the software for you. It has been around a long time, but they continue to develop and innovate new functionality. The people are also some of the best to work with.
  • I have worked with Storis in 3 retailers now. In all cases, it has scaled beautifully to allow the companies to grow.
I don't think this company exist any more. But at the time we did an evaluation of the two companies to see which came out on top. At the end, it was clear that Storis was a much better transaction based system. It focused on functionality that would help you take care of your customer. The other focused more on reporting and executive level information.
