[SurePoint Legal Management System (LMS)] is being used by the accounting department for reporting and billing. A few administrators and attorneys have access to the dashboards.
  • The financial system is exceptionally organized.
  • The drill downs on reports and dashboards are amazing.
  • It's easy to change reporting periods and run comparisons.
  • No case management system to speak of.
  • No able to create multiple cost rates for attorneys to use in profitability analysis
  • Accounting system does not integrate well with e-billing vendors
Law firms needing an easy to use billing and accounting systems. [SurePoint Legal Management System (LMS)] would work for law firms of all sizes. It does not work well for matter pricing or profitability analysis.
  • Accounting
  • Billing
  • Reporting
  • It easy to use to respond to questions relating to time entry, billing and collections
For small to midsize firms, SurePoint [Legal Management System (LMS)] is 100% better than Prolaw. I have not used the latest version of Prolaw, but I have seen it and it still does not compare to ease of use and features.

LMS Practice Management is a software package designed to help manage information in a law practice or legal organization. In our case it was used to manage attorney interactions with clients, accounting, and financial responsibilities. The application help with information management and made it easier to enter data such as billing hours, client information, expenditures, and project time frames.
  • The interface is fairly well designed, making it fairly easy to enter data or to create information visualizations.
  • The software supports a robust set of features that can all be accessed through a single portal or site.
  • There are analysis functions that help show patterns or trends based on time sensitive information.
  • The software can sometimes seem buggy and may have some operational issues.
  • For some the wealth of features may be intimidating at first, requiring some training to become proficient in its usage.
  • The performance of the program can be slow at times.
It is really well suited to medium to large sized attorney firms and practices. For small firms with one or two attorneys, it can be a bit of an overkill with its many features and components. On the other hand, smaller firms could pick and choose which features or components could be used without needing to utilize the entire package.
  • The program helps a great deal in tracking billing and accounting information to help reduce over expenditures.
  • The myriad of features including client management is really helpful in management customer relationships which can save time and money.
  • Sometimes there are problems or errors that impact the product's performance.
LMS Practice Management provides a wealth of features not often found in one package. Its information visualization tools and client management tools are extremely helpful in providing oversight on client billing matters. Its reporting tools were also fairly robust, providing more features than competitor products on the markets. While not perfect, its clean interface and number of components help make it stand out among the competition.
