What is Tacton CPQ?

With Tacton CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote), B2B manufacturers can maintain and sell highly customizable products as if they were standard. The Tacton configuration and pricing engine, allows users to control custom product’s thousands of parts and commercial rules with small set of constraint, generating millions of valid, builable and profitable product variants.

With needs-based configuration, pricing for every configurator selection, real-time 3D product visualization and automatic generation of CAD files, sales reps will be able to define, price and order complex and custom products, without sales engineering support. In this way sales engineers can focus on innovating products and sales reps can focus on talking value with the customer.

With Tacton’s omni-channel capabilities, users can offer Configuration, Pricing and Quoting of products not only to direct sales, but also to resellers and end customer in self-service and eCommerce channels.

With Tacton’s APIs and integrations, data from PLM, ERP, CAD and CRM can be leveraged in Tacton CPQ to remove data silos. Its analytics API can use the transaction data created in Tacton CPQ to create actionable business insights in preferred Business Intelligence tools.

Tacton can handle complex and customizable industrial equipment. With Tacton’s attribute constraints, product engineering teams can express and maintain all the logic of product variance, separating valid from invalid product configurations. Its out-of-the-box configurator aims to enable sales reps, resellers and end-customers themselves to define highly customized and error-free equipment – without involvement of sales engineering.

Tacton CPQ helps users increase revenue, increase sales velocity, decrease sales costs and decrease costs of order errors and warranties.

Tacton provides solutions to global customers such as ABB, Bosch, Caterpillar, Daimler, MAN, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Toshiba and Yaskawa. Tacton is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois and Stockholm, Sweden, with regional offices in Karlsruhe, Germany, Warsaw, Poland, and Tokyo, Japan.

Users have reported significant time savings and increased efficiency when using this product. Design time has been reduced from 1-2 weeks to just a couple of days for submittal production, while the production of fabrication drawings can now be completed in as little as a few days instead of the previous 4-6 weeks. One of the key advantages of this software is its ability to quickly model designs, eliminating it as a constraint in the design process. By capturing design intent and automating much of the work, TactonWorks normalizes training between different skilled individuals. The software also effectively handles increasing complexity and the number of product variants through its configurator feature.

Business processes are streamlined, and computing power allows for easy application of complex logic, facilitating automation and configurator performance. Furthermore, involving potential customers in design solutions helps reduce dependencies on other stakeholders in the sales process and improves order execution lead time. The software also allows for the production of customized quotes with a CPQ, offering a cloud-based CPQ and custom CS configurator for added convenience.
