- Analytics on the consumers and their usage habits
- Also helps understand what part of the product is working for the customer and what isnt
- Understanding the product from the consumers perspective helps build a company that grows exponentially
- With things like analytics, theres always room for improvement. The goalposts are ever shifting.
- A deeper dive into the analytics can be provided with reports and graphs and what not as possibilities

- We used Talend to ETLing the data from myriad sources such Oracle Database, Clarify, Salesforce, Sugar CRM, SQL DB, MQ, Stibo Step, FTP, Netezza, and Files.
- We leverage Talend transformation capabilities for stitching the data , unions and join
- We successfully created the final unified set that can be used by business
- We were able to produce Good visualization by created curated data sets but it takes lot of time.
- Talend has a ok user experience but there is ample scope of improvement in documentation and CX.
- Talend can help uses by providing better error messages

- Pricing for sure can be the area for improvement.
- Real time processing is slow as compared to other tools like Abinitio.
- While developing batches, it crashes a lot. It may be the issue with me, but I wanted to highlight it.

Talend is a great tool
- Extract data from different type of sources - Great connectivity options available.
- Transform the data using multiple functions/components within Talend Data.
- Load the data into different types of target tables.
- One can also customize the code for specific use cases.
- Scheduling options are limited.
- Using Machine Learning is not very easy.

- Talend Data Integration allows us to quickly build data integrations without a tremendous amount of custom coding (some Java and JavaScript knowledge is still required).
- I like the UI and it's very intuitive. Jobs are visual, allowing the team members to see the flow of the data, without having to read through the Java code that is generated.
- Dynamically table creation from new source.
- Using contexts with both connections and variables causes some troubles. CLOBs and dates with timestamps have issues.
- The server-side should be completely revamped. The documentation is lacking within the product. They need to get better at all aspects of describing how it works and how to use it.
- Consumes more CPU and Memory. I feel it's bit less efficient.

A great ETL tool at no cost
- The speed of migration is very good for a Free ETL tool.
- The amount of components or connectors we have is impressive.
- Talend Data Integration is not high available in the free version.
- Talend support for sub-7 version on the latest MacBooks is not good.

Talend OpenStudio building your EDW at $0 cost
- JSON parsing, if you are into highly nested JSON object parsing Talend has the ability to display the structure of JSON and allows you to define the extraction logic in the metadata. Same with XML source.
- Customization, For mostly all ETL work you will have a component in Talend. And in case you have a very specific requirement you can end up easily designing a custom component that you can code and reuse and share with others.
- Talend has a connectivity option to almost all the databases (relational or NOSQ)L and sources available. It also has generic JDBC/ ODBC drivers in case you need it.
- I like the ease of deployment across environment (DEV and PROD) with the use of context variables.
- The Talend Administration Console TAC is a great place to schedule and monitor your jobs. Probably the interface can be improved.

An excellent data integration tool
- Reading for multiple sources: Any modern Database, Files, WebServices, etc.
- Monitoring and scheduling task dependencies for data loading purposes.
- Really useful to design a Data Warehouse, thanks to its built in components for design patterns like SCD, etc.
- It's also useful to publish data interfaces via WebServices or REST.
- Good and high qualified support team.
- Connecting to various databases from classic Relational (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) to No-SQL Databases.
- Well documented.
- Community which provides plugins, etc.
- Installation process of Integration Suite platform.
- JAVA memory management. It's easy to get a memory overhead error, and you have to modify configuration files to increase memory manually.
- Migration process.

- Developers can add new customized components to Talend for specific needs.
- It has low cost as compared to commercial data integration tools.
- The enterprise version has an option for integrating a variety of data platforms and connects to variety of data sources.
- To run a job, a developer need not upload it to the server, jobs can be run locally.
- Data loading components for different databases can be improved further. Currently Greenplum target compenents or postgre data target components are not yielding high throughput,
- Transformation components can be made visually more attractive and informative.
- Syntax used in data transformation can be simplified.
