  • It can be used to create report efficiently
  • Has some basic ETL capabilities
  • Has some basic analytics capabilities
  • needs better functionality for error handling
  • needs to improve ETL progress monitoring
  • needs a UI for configuration tool, that can be used to configure cube, etl logging, backups etc.
  • need integration with sql server agent for easier scheduling
  • needs UI to review etl and cube processing logs

It is well suited for smaller BI solutions.
Needs all the improvements suggested in my previous answer to make it suitable for larger solutions.

  • It helped us start out BI solution, but soon we faced some difficulties, especially for logging, performance monitoring and configuration of the tool.
Alternatives Considered
TARGIT seemed to have all the BI tools , but they are not scalable to larger solutions.

It is being used as a Business Intelligence tool across the organization to have a central reporting portal, an in-memory cube, and ETL.
Pros and Cons
  • The in-memory cube in the Targit suite is an excellent tool that can replace SSAS in theMicrosoft BI suite of tools. InMemory aggregations are lightning-fast compared to Microsoft SSAS.
  • Targit also has a cool HTML5 reporting tool.
  • It is a complete suite of BI tools including ETL, cube and reports.
  • The Targit ETL tool needs improvement.
  • Currently, it is non-intuitive and troubleshooting is very difficult.
  • Needs better documentation including how to videos.
  • The InMemory cube works awesome but is very difficult to implement using the current application interface.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for BI platforms that use a dimensional model to generate trending reports with drill-through into the data. The in-memory tools make it lightning fast. Not so good for reports from normalized data.
Alternatives Considered
Targit's in-memory suite of tools can process data very fast. We selected it for the speed of data processing, and availability of all ETL, cube, and reporting capabilities in the same product.

TARGIT is being used by almost everyone in my organization. We are using it to report information from our sales department, support department, development department, professional services department, as well as suggesting that our own clients use TARGIT. In sales, we track open opportunities, real vs. actual, and all stages of the pipeline.
Pros and Cons
  • The user interface is very appealing and super easy to use
  • Ability to easily create reports
  • The flexibility of all the information that we are able to report on
  • Their team! Working with them has been and continues to be such a pleasure!
  • I wish that there were more canned reports or out-of-box reports
Likelihood to Recommend
Targit is very strong when the data is presented to the system. Because of this, we are able to report on almost all of the information that is valuable to us. When we have questions or ideas on how to better leverage Targit, they are great to work with. We track our sales progress/process in Targit and AP tracks things such as outstanding invoices, open invoices, etc.
Alternatives Considered
While their product is top of the line and works very well for us, we ultimately selected Targit because of their team. We love working with them and they are always super helpful. Whenever we have a request or issue, they are there ready to happily help us resolve it and move forward.

TARGIT has allowed us to efficiently enter the business intelligence realm and gain valuable insight into our data. It is allowing us to achieve this in alignment with direction from our senior management team. It is allowing us to be able to drive better decisions and continue creating reporting efficiency opportunities. We have users from our senior management team, directors and managers across different functional areas in our organization benefiting from TARGIT.
Pros and Cons
  • The intuitive user interface does not intimidate users that are new to BI.
  • Dashboards really stand out with great metrics and KPIs.
  • Great dedicated team behind the product that is willing to work with you while you get acclimated with their product set.
  • We look forward to the opportunity to be able to take advantage of Data Discovery for Ad-Hoc scenarios. This is something that didn't necessary work as expected from Day 1 but TARGIT has enhanced the functionality moving forward and [we] look forward to testing and implementing it.
  • We should have looked at TARGIT sooner!

TARGIT is really a great application that allows any organization to jump into BI and data analytics. It centralizes the reporting efforts of any organization. It does require BI ambassadors within an organization to promote TARGIT and the value it can produce for all reporting needs.
Alternatives Considered
It really met our business requirements when we were searching for a reporting/Bi tool and the flexible business model of being able to introduce additional functionally as your organization grows and requires it made the investment decision the right one for us. The functionality available in comparison to the investment is well worth it.
