What is TextMagic?

TextMagic is a bulk SMS service for sending texts to customers, staff and suppliers from an online portal. TextMagic is compatible with PC & Mac. It supports long SMS messages, and allows users to send texts globally. Users can set up integrations to other applications using TextMagic's Gateway API.

TextMagic is designed around usability, flexibility, oversight, security and reliability. The vendor says it can help companies improve communication with staff and customers and boost SMS marketing results.

It allows you to save contacts, create templates that make use of contact record fields, and future schedule messages for transmission at a later time. To your customers, you can send SMS notifications, alerts, reminders, and promotional messages. You can use your desktop, browser, or mobile apps to exchange group text messages online.
  • Your bulk texts can contain tags, files, and even ready-to-use templates.
  • In order to optimize your SMS advertising strategy, you can develop targeted subscriber lists.
  • Customer support for TextMagic can be improved.
  • There are few options for customization.
  • No MMS support.
To streamline procedures, you can easily create message templates and import contacts. You can send group SMS online using the TextMagic app from a laptop, browser, or mobile device. Contact information can be entered manually or imported from other programs. To improve your strategy, you can create email lists based on SMS advertising.

I wanted to add an SMS list to promote our special event fundraiser with mission Costumes Community Causes. I had never used an SMS service before so did some research and found TextMagic. As a small startup business, I needed the most cost-effective solution to try. TextMagic was the perfect solution for us It is very easy to use and keep marketing costs low while reaching customers that do not want to read email and do not see our social media posts. It was really easy to add the collector to our GoDaddy website. My customers can add themselves or I can upload the signups from the events that we hold. I definitely recommend this if you want to add SMS text campaigns to your marketing.

  • I like the ability to respond the their texts back to me to hold a conversation.
  • I like the billing structure with auto balance.
  • The scheduling feature and cost calculation is very helpful.
  • Easy to learn to use.
  • It would be nice to add a picture to show up as part of the text. It only lets you add a link to a picture.
  • When uploading new contacts by pasting, it didn't enter the names correctly. So I had to delete the new entries and upload as csv which worked correctly.
  • Have not found any other issues with TextMagic.
TextMagic is a wonderful solution for small businesses or non-profits just adding an SMS text service to their marketing outreach program. Very easy to set up and use. Customers seem to like SMS as a method of communication. Easily lets you keep in touch with them at a very nominal cost. Immediate feedback if they respond to your text on the dashboard through chat.

Text messages can be used to provide notifications, alerts, reminders and promotional messages. You can upload contact lists and send messages to customers, employees, stakeholders, and even members of the general public who are involved in promotional activities. Provides an SMS gateway API to interact with websites and incorporate text messaging capabilities into daily activities.
  • Employees can connect via text messages using two-way chat messages.
  • Emails can be converted to text messages and sent as SMS.
  • TextMagic's customer service continues to be poor.
  • Contact management could be simplified.
You can share your team's inboxes and contact lists; each member can schedule messages to be delivered at certain times while keeping track of delivery rates. Metrics such as volume of messages delivered and received, delivery rate, and response rate can be tracked. You can import Excel or CSV files, tag them with custom fields, and perform custom actions like sharing with subaccounts, hiding, and adding more profile information.

The main issue that we currently face at our business is sometimes we want to send mass MSG to our employees or convert emails to text messages so communication can be processed quickly. TextMagic allows us to do all of these without any issue and is a great tool that saves a lot of time in our communication process.
  • Schedule texting.
  • Converting email to text message.
  • Giving us a virtual phone number.
  • Not too easy to add picture or file to text message.
  • Lack of option for employee to reply.
  • Take some time to learn.
The scenarios that TextMagic is well suited to are sending text messages to a large group of individuals, scheduling your text messages, and converting email to text message format. What it's not well suited to is attaching photos, documents, or videos as a part of your text. Also, it's not suited as something that can be picked up and learn quickly as it takes time to get to know how it works.

When COVID hit, we wanted a way to schedule and send a daily COVID screening text to our staff. We used TextMagic to send these SMS' on a weekly basis. Setup was easy, the texts were delivered on time and the pricing was fair.

The only feature I wish they had was the ability to opt out of particular days, for instance, weekends, more efficiently. As of writing, I don't believe this is an option yet but I did suggest it as an option moving forward.

  • It would be nice to schedule texts and omit certain days, like weekends, more easily.
TextMagic was the perfect choice for what we wanted to do, which was sending a COVID screening questionnaire on a daily basis to our staff.

Our company uses TextMagic as an easy way to send out messages to all employees very quickly. We use it to inform employees of weather related delays or closings. We also use it for other types of urgent message that we need to send during off hours. We have employees who do not have company email or company devices to check email during non-business hours. TextMagic allows us to reach everyone whether or not they are on the company's email distribution.
  • It is very easy to import a contact list.
  • The simplicity of creating a template makes this a breeze to use.
  • I can access TextMagic from anywhere and reach all of our employees in seconds.
  • I don't have any cons at the moment.
It is well suited for our small company. We have employees in multiple states; some without company email; and many without company devices to check email during non-business hours.

The entire office staff uses TextMagic to communicate with our customers. We are able to easily reach our customers that may not be in a position to answer a call. We use it for scheduling, confirmations and general communication. We are thrilled with the results we have gotten and the volume of customers we are able to reach in this day in age where most people prefer to text.

  • Reminders when our balance is low, we never have to worry about going to send a text and not having enough credits
  • Multiple users are able to work off of the same account
  • Detailed records kept of each text conversation
  • I have no cons to report at this time
In 2019, most people avoid answering a phone call, especially if they are not familiar with the number. The ability to text our customers is crucial to reach them. We don't have our office staff texting from their personal cell phones to reach customers who prefer texting. We are able to send texts through emails.

Used across the whole organization for immediate dissemination of critical information happening inside the plant. Our plant is situated in remote town of Leyte province occupying few hectares of land in which operation offices are located far from the Administration building where our executives, managers, AVP's, VP's reside. Part of our safety program is to monitor closely the gas emissions and disseminate the information to selected persons once threshold is reached. SMS is the fastest way distribute the information that's why we used TextMagic. It works fine.

  • Apologies but can't think of one.
The mobility and the integration features of this system is worth trying it for. It's easy to access, manage, and the features like email to SMS are just another tool of productivity for workers especially for those mobile users.

I run a dance school. I use it for essential contact to all my pupils, i.e. if I need to cancel a class at the last minute due to illness or bad weather. I also use it to remind pupils when we resume classes after a holiday break.

Easy to very quickly do a group text in case of an emergency. I would not over-use it as it could be very annoying to keep receiving marketing texts.

We are using textmagic for our communication and sell to our customers. All our services are based using SMS exchanges. It is the most important tool of my company. Sometimes messages need 20 [minutes] to reach the destination. The support is incompetent and not polite, each time you need something it is impossible. I am totally stuck with them because the phone number that I pay each month to textmagic is on of all my communication. Using Twilio and Smooch is 200% times better than Textmagic.

  • Connection between other services ERP, CRM and Slack.
  • Textmagic is a tool for kids who want to SMS chat.
  • The possibility to change the SMS provider to Twilio or others. It is not legal to forbid that but they find a way to bypass that.
It is perfect for simple chat. But there is zero interoperability to use other suitable tools so I would not recommend this tool for professional usage. For the support as soon as you have an issue it is not their system that is the problem but the carrier and a few minutes later the bug is solved. The support is lying to their customers.
